If Boris was working in January and February we wouldn't be in this mess.

    How you feeling now?

Pretty clear indications that all businesses will be operating by July, let alone August, and football will be no different.

I remember me posting how the situation was changing by the day, but you said it wasn't and nothing would have changed come August...

So far, no signs of a second peak either - not to jump the gun, but let's be honest social distancing is become less and less a thing and as lockdown eases more and more I just don't see a significant increase.

It looks like this Coronavirus is like all the others in that it really doesn't look to have any resilience.

Might it be gone by the end of the year?

Hope your right but your theory is being severely tested at the moment. I worry what the infection rate will be in a couple of weeks

In terms of football it will be June, July and August when the test will come. Many CEO have said that.

As for normal businesses then we will see when the Furlough changes are announced at the end of this week or start of next.

Second peak the scientists keep saying they might be and we don't know! It will be foolish at this stage for anyone to think that's not possible.

This week will be a key indicator.

Forget the low figures over the bank holiday - by the end of the week we should start to see a clearer picture of what's going to happen.

It's been two weeks since the 11th May when Johnson started easing measures, and certainly by the third week you'd be expecting to see any consequences of people loosening up their lockdowns taking shape.

Nothing so far has confounded the original science surrounding coronaviruses that was around BEFORE Covid 19.

    But, we'll see fairly soon.

Like the beach at Southend today!!! Compare that to Wales, Scotland And N. Ireland and ask yourself if the Govt are really serious about it.

I think the government have thought that they have made a mistake with the lockdown. To ruin the economy.. i said the lockdown was a mistake at the start.

Social distancing can't be policed now.

I think social distancing will generally be an expectation for a while, but let's be honest, if the numbers continue to slide, so will distancing.

The government aren't pressuring the public like they were, although I expect those operating as organisers or in managerial positions will continue to be instructed to 'do what's right' or whatever motto BJ comes out with next.

If/when pubs reopen on July 1, that will pretty much the end of the national effort against Covid19 - but I wouldn't expect to see the tape removed from floors in supermarkets until it's well and truly toast.

If they have got it wrong like they did with the late lockdown they will pay a heavy price and the country a tragic one

I don't think lockdown was a mistake, I think it would have been much worse had no action been taken around the world - we, as a nation, locked down too late, if anything, hence our relatively high figures.

When we did absolutely nothing as a nation to stop the spread, we did so by misguided design, and Boris himself nearly paid the price for doing absolutely nothing to protect himself.

However, staying locked down for too long would be a mistake. As much as there's a moral panic about people opting not to social distance properly anymore, there hasn't been a single country that has had a major initial spike and then a second major spike yet.

That conforms to what we know about past outbreaks of SARS, MERS, and even other animal-oriented viruses like Ebola.

Not sure @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler would say but he knows the supermarkets have taken the mick out of social distancing.. it like going to a club and seeing the que outside then you walk in VIP style and it's enter inside.

The queues outside supermarkets are a joke! Inside they don't care about social distancing.. it's all about the MONEY!

So when pubs open and retail shops it's done.. the social distance thing but the government will try to stick by the rules but won't police them.

Covid 19 the way to get pollution down and stop the electric car nonsense for 2040?

The government aren't trying to make us stick to any rules, they've said go out, make trips, visit beauty spots, exercise, enjoy yourself.

We're supposed to accidentally break social distancing guidelines to confirm their suspicions that Covid is history and it's safe to open up schools and workplaces.

It's like they've gone into a pub full of merry drinkers, handed out food vouchers for use in any establishment, but gone 'Oh, but please don't spend on curry or a kebab'.

What do you think's going to happen? Exactly what's happened.

It's because they're weak and bailouts will happen this week and next but they don't want to pay for education, retail and others.
