Think I’ve fixed it (and hopefully the issue where no ads are showing for some users when they should be seeing some ads). Might take an hour for it to flush through the system but if people could keep me informed of the situation that would be great

 

That might be my fault. There was an alert from Google about ad impressions having been down significantly (while page views were up) which was obviously hitting ad revenue massively. Did some tests and they were not showing half the time for me both when logged out and on my test account so I was playing around trying to fix it this morning but nothing I did worked which was frustrating so I left it for a bit in the hope I would come back later and the issue would come to me.

Seems in reality there was just a bit of a delay in the changes taking effect. And on top of that, I must have left a conditional tag out which seems to be causing a double load for some people (you are getting the guest and the regular user ones). I'm trying to work out both issues right now so

ads pay for the running costs of the forum , no adverts no forum... simples

There is an option to be a forum supporter for a measly £10 per year to remove all adverts

If more folk took this up then there wouldn't be a need for adverts at all
