    Yes I did know that.

    I once saw Tony Leighton watching the action. He was in a wheel chair if my memory is correct.

    As a goalkeeper my knees/ hips and elbows were constantly ripped up on the all-weather gravel.

    And then had to buy new tracksuit bottoms every few week as they were often ripped to bits!

    It never deterred some of the better players from making the odd sliding tackle, the scabs on their legs never heald from one game to another.
