Coming up with any system (other than finishing the season) that relegates clubs is a gift for the lawyers.

And finishing this season anytime soon, looks very unlikely.

I never understood why there is a clamour for outstanding PL games to be played at neutral venues. Is this the concern of the police and to avoid hundreds or thousands of supporters arriving for games played behind closed doors?

I hope your correct @bantam2708@bantam2708 that would possibly be one of the things that might stop me watching football, Manchester City 11v Bradford City at Gigg Lane or where ever the game was played.

Me too Dave, that would put the icing on the cake for me, I'd be done with going to watch football except maybe a non-league game?

Me too. The Premier League is eating itself. There’s a complete disregard for clubs and supporters in the EFL, from a PL perspective. It’s at risk of becoming a parody of itself - its players are vastly overpaid, tickets are over priced, games are scheduled solely to suit the agenda of TV companies and supporters generally are disregarded. I hope it gets the reality check that I suspect may be heading its way.

How much would it actually save though? A travelling squad and staff will probably number around 24-30 people. Assume they room share, its a max of 15 rooms. At a price of around £100 a night, you’re talking £1500-£2000 of expenses. And there’ll be maybe 5 or 6 times a season where its needed. Even if its 10 times, you’re talking £20K savings, there or thereabouts. Not pennies, but not dramatic either.

What’s needed is a reduction in player salaries, across the board. And proper, financial controls that make it next to impossible for clubs to spend money they don’t have.

That’s probably better than we’d have fared if we played our remaining games. Only city could improve its league form by not playing any games.

I think our home form was boosted by a few early season games where luck seems to be on our side with sendings off etc. For far too many of our games, we lacked any real quality. Even by League 2 standards.

Halifax Manager said yesterday £3k to £3.5k for an overnight and based on my knowledge of BCFC that's spot on.

Fair enough, sounds about right. Similar principle though. I don’t know how many overnights we’d expect to have a season? Maybe 10?

I’m guessing Plymouth away, Exeter await, Cheltenham away (Tues Night), Colchester away (Tues Night), maybe Crawley and Stevenage away. Maybe a FGR and Newport away depending on when the games are. Can’t imagine it’d be much more. When you’re talking about playing budgets of at least £1.5m for most clubs in the league, £30k won’t be the difference between surviving or not.

Beyond the financial benefits of what c£30,000, as a supporter I want to travel down south. Why should I not be able to go to Wimbledon, Charlton, Exeter, Plymouth, Swindon etc

Yet again an idea satisfying a game with little control on its finances and more bloody disregard for supporters.

What about our supporters based down south? Let's just alienate this support irrespective of its size.

It makes sense not only financially but practically as well it’s a nonsense that a club say Carlisle have to travel to Plymouth expensive and very tiring and in these days when we are asked to look after our carbon footprint. Having it regional gives fans the chance to see more games without devaluing the competition

I can see some of your thinking. In respect to the carbon footprint, granted. Though, I wished that applied to the whole globe and wasn't a money making exercise for government. Tiring, from a players point of view, very possibly. And in respect of Carlisle and Plymouth whom you state, yes, many benefits including financial benefits.

However, these finances will be factored in, at the beginning of the season. Accommodation, transportation booked etc. Well planned, a fee of c£30,000 to c£50,000 maybe? Those costs from City are nominal compared to the playing budget.

Going back to my original statement, I love a long day out down south. Why should that be taken away from me & many others because the footballing world is imploding due to greed, self preservation and a disgraceful distribution of TV monies. Why should our Southern based support be penalised?

As for the cup competitions, we'll we can forget a day at Aldershot but then at the same time, Chelsea?? Or do us lower league teams comply with the FA /Premier League and forgo the regionalised leagues structure and travel where we are told to do so.

As for not devaluing the competition as you put it Park. Well it would surely do so. I don't know what your thinking is regarding structure of a north/south league is but let me assume it is 23 teams in a northern league and 23 in the southern league. Maybe the champions promoted from both leagues and a play off accumulating in a 3rd promotion spot. Seems a logical way of thinking on my part.

So, this season we are to finish outside the play offs in division 4. No chance of seeing the championship in at least 2 seasons yet with this idea, we would go into a new season with the same chance as Sunderland, Blackpool, Doncaster et al. Why should we be allowed this?? That would devalue the competition IMO.
Teams like Bolton, financially incompetent, would too have an immediate chance of a return to the championship.
In a league of 23 both from the North and South, a team would have reduced chances of promotion. Up to 2 spots in its regional section unless the teams from the championship voted for extra relegation spots. Turkeys, Christmas?

So just taking Sunderland as an example. Starting in L1 next season, they would have 2 automatic chances of promotion plus the potential of a play off spot. Under a regional system, 1 spot available plus a potential play off spot. Less chance of going up, yes? And now Bradford will have the same opportunity to get to the Championship despite being in a lower league as we stand.

I don't see it, don't agree with it and the problem ain't travel. It's the in house greed and incompetence.

Oh and heaven forbid, two teams from the national league that are both from, say the South, get promoted. What will we do to accommodate an extra team in the south regionalised league yet one less in the North league?

First hicup in the German leagues restarting next weekend. Dynamo Dresden have had 2 positive tests and the whole squad have been put into isolation for two weeks meaning at least one of their games is off.

    You got a vaccine?

Don't get why it shocks people that when footballers test positive.

Game is off.. other games continue- move on!

    Oh look:

Jacare Souza has tested positive for Covid-19 and is out of Saturday's controversial UFC 249 event - the first of three in seven days in Florida.

    Going to happen.

I said today the government might as well pay us all our annual wage and we stay in until a vaccine I. 12 months because some of you just can't cope or live with this.

    As I have posted above:

Jacare Souza has tested positive for Covid-19 and is out of Saturday's controversial UFC 249 event - the first of three in seven days in Florida.

It's going to happen in sport, police, factories, offices, porn shops, midget houses for 12 months.. get use to it. It's boring unless you can find a solution or vaccine.

so what is your solution to the the games missed? Tag them on the end and just keep extending until all games are finished?

I wouldn't quarantine all the players for two week. At 1st it would be all for 2 days the retest all barring the first set of positive tests who have to quarantine for 7 days min.

Think the squads have to be biggest with them testing negative able to play.

These are bottom of league 2 in German. Does make you wonder.

The test need to be carried out independently for a start. Clubs shouldn't carry them out with their doctor.

Sport start making a drama out of this then it's finished for 12 months.
