Not an obsession at all just a comment that I believe will turn out to be true, possibly Bradford City FC are in a far better position than most as I'm not sure Stefan can walk away from his investment.

Lets wait and see, it's just my opinion no one wants to walk away from a £5/6M investment.

At a guess he came in this to make money.

 

The RFL have apparently been telling clubs that there will be no matches played until at least the end of June. So if that governing body has been told that then presumably other sports are in the same position.

 

Its in times like these business people make all sorts of strange decisions. He could already be hemorrhaging money in his other business due to Covid 19 .

 

First game back could look like this :

 

Remember back in the day players used to return to pre-season looking a lot overweight..was in the airport in Portugal waiting to get the plane back home after summer holiday, late 80s I think. We saw Stevie Nicol, ex Liverpool player, in another queue waiting for his plane and he looked a right bloater, like a Michelin Man version of himself!! Only a few weeks later and he was slimmed down, fit as anything running around playing for Liverpool!! Wouldn't happen these days...

The game has changed since those days thank goodness, the footballing backroom staff give each individual player their own fitness plan for the closed season, no excuse now a days for players to return having put on a few lbs.

 

Yet footballers seem to get more injuries these days, or did they breed them much tougher in days gone by, and they just played on?

Lower than conference north etc have decided to null and void this season I think? Rest to make their decision

 

We could do with a Norman Hunter, Micky Kennedy and Frannie Lee type at City!

 

At least by the end of June .....how will the out of contract players go on., normally contracts finish around that time

 

McCall favours finishing the season - behind closed doors if necessary, but that would mean a lot of games per week throughout May/June before contracts expire and assumes that the restrictions are lifted by the end of April. Could be a bit tight.

 

Surely the out of contract players are eligible for the government scheme where they receive 80% of their wages.

 

Not sure whether its been mentioned, but I wonder whether the governments provisions give us relief from paying rental charges for the stadium....
