I understand that you think that the season can start on 21/11/2020. As I demonstrated in an earlier post, I really cannot see how you could start a season at the end of November and expect to squeeze all the fixtures in before Euro 2021 starts. Can you explain your thinking?

I reckon next season could be just 1 game against each opponent, 23 game season.
That way you could start around November.
Piece of piss, I should be at the FA.

it could work out well for some who get the harder teams at home it would be very difficult to be fair you could divide the league in two geographically as far as you can and play home and away and the two league winners promoted

Play like I seem to remember the Scots did. They had smaller leagues and instead of playing the opposition twice at home and away they played three times, sometimes twice home and once away or vice versa.
We could play some teams twice and others once, all computer selected.

Just looking at the maths, the usual season is 46 matches. On the basis of 23 matches and the other 23 split, how do you split it? Are you going to have 34 or 35 games? There are 26 Saturday’s between 21/11/2020 & the 15/5/2021. That would also entail a further 8/9 games being played on other days. Additionally:
    • Managers and players already complain about too many games over a short period.
    • What happens when the ‘Colchester’s’ or some other team, decide to cancel games due to ‘International’ call ups.
    • What will happen to the FA Cup?
    • Will the Police have sufficient personnel, especially if there are more games in quick succession and they still have to Police the neighbouring clubs?
    • The weather over the December - February period can intervene and games cancelled, when the proposed timescale may mean it is exceptionally difficult to rearrange?
    • Pitches, in particular our own, are under immense pressure, even with a more relaxed schedule.
    • Play Offs? usually over four week, even if condensed to three weeks that would mean completing by 5/6/2021.
Strikes me that this is probably over ambitious.

I don't see this being resolved until there is a vaccine which is well into next year at a minimum. I suspect next season will be cancelled or all played behind closed doors. Any type of crowds are just not going to be happening in the next 18 months.

Premier League in advanced talks with Government over football return in June

EXCLUSIVE: Plans for Premier League matches to be played behind closed doors - beginning in June - have been given a tentative green light

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-advanced-talks-government-21817712

I did say @Storck@Storck and @How@How that sporting bodies will be in talks with the government about when hopefully it can return. Matchroom and Frank Warren didn't rearrange fights for July without the boxing board speaking to the government about a possible return when it's safe hopefully to do so.

It will be a case of what talks happen say in the dressing room but these months we think are possible.

Hi all fellow fans. First I hope you're all safe and well, including your families, friends etc. Some of our angst about our season, seems a bit pathetic right now in these terrible times

Just add my bit and as I stated previously, the season will be allowed to end

Apologies, if I'm repeating myself but some lawyer said that the authorities would be storing up a whole host of issues, if they abandon this season and go straight to the next

I've always seen a July start as feasible. Season to end mid-August. Potential abandoning of the FA Cup. Potential abondoing of the play-offs (no-one could argue if all league fixtures are completed)

New season starts in October. No League Cup. Potentially no FA Cup - but they could streamline it so that the Premier League clubs enter it later. Season ends May 31st for L1/2 clubs with play-offs falling on immediately so that our competitions end just in time for the start of the Euro's.

For the Premiership it is very unlikely that the European club competitions will be played next season. No government is going to sanction 3000 fans at 60 clubs migrating around Europe every other week during October to February - the Spaniards (wrongly) already blame that Atalanta/Valencia for spreading the virus, football always gets it in the neck for societies ills and the virus itself will will regain it's strength in the autumn months. Hence 38 Premiership matches between in 7 months (October to April) is feasible

Finishing off this season Champions League, etc might be the compromise

Only difficulty is The `Championship, who play the same number of matches as us and often have good cup runs, hence why I question the FA Cup for next season

Note, already and quite rightly EUEFA have seen the leagues, i.e. the bread and butter as priority
