Far greater share of tv monies and probably commercial income vastly increased
Attendances can’t move vastly , but we are average around 21000, when capacity is just under 25. So some space there, another 2000 at £25 is £50k per game or £1.1 million before tax per season
We have potential, it’s just when and how we try to achieve it
It would be a good problem to have, but on current form it looks a fair way off to me

Some big,well supported clubs generating decent commercial numbers and yet there are serious losses across the board.

 

Because they're all chasing the ultimate dream of reaching the Premier League I guess. Unfortunately for most only 3 will make it each season but doesn't stop teams from risking their futures in pursuing the land of milk and honey.

 

I did say it might also promote interest in the club from potential new owners, who might have richer pockets than Mr Rupp
Unfortunately the chase for the premiership pots of gold is crippling clubs with unsustainable debt
I would love us to return to the championship
But not at the expense of running into hard times and administration again

There are two things that could happen this winter. First there is a number of wealthy people about looking to buy a football club. Several clubs have changed hands in the last twelve months. Why hasn't City been involved in these people looking for a club? Or have they, but been turned away by the current owner?
Secondly, if promotion was accomplished where do you think the price of a seat would be? I think it would be at least 25% dearer than it is now. That would give the manager some cash to play with.

the problem is wages. The wage bills are astronomical in the Championship. We can’t compete with teams offering tens of thousands a week in player wages and teams receiving parachute payments?

 

This will apply to a lot of teams coming up. Let’s get there and worry about it then. Box clever with the money we have

 

Without investment, we will never be able to compete with most clubs in tha championship

To go back to the original topic i think aside from the obvious (goal scorer), central midfield really needs improvement if we're to have any chance this year.

I don't think Metcalfe is ready for regular 90 minutes at this level yet, Leigh is too hit and miss (and is often physically over powered) and Pattinson is injury prone.

Oh to unearth a Josh Cullen type gem on loan

As for bringing players in probably depends how many they can shift out and how much is Rupp is willing to take a risk.
We sit top come Jan and there is little or no action then it señs a bad message to the fans when this league is there for the taking as bad as we have been we sit 2nd with a good gap to 7th which could increase further over the next few weeks
