What are you watching?

Got an absolute hammering from most of the newspaper review sites, but I enjoyed it. Watched it all in one sitting.
Currently watching Ozark and Tiger King.
If you want to watch something mad, try "Don't f**k with cats" - absolutely bonkers!

 

Tiger King is absolutely mental. It’s got absolutely everything. Good, bad, mad and sad. I’ve never seen anything like it.

 

Watched this last night, compulsive viewing. You couldn't have written the script its that crazy but in a way kinda sums American society up.

 

Haha no. This is set today Gabriel Byrne is most famous cast member. Half here and half in France. A bit minimalist and no massive effects apart from.....i won't spoil it but im enjoying it. The wife hates it

 

On a ligher easy watching note I'm also enjoying Bulletproof.....a sort of cockney version of Bad Boys

The Beeb one was so bad, I didn't even follow it to the end. It made the Tom Cruise film look like an Oscar winner (its actually not a bad version really). It's funny, because a few weeks before the BBC version came out, I'd just finished re-reading the book, and then listening to the radio show on youtube - both fantastic and chilling. I hate it when something gets adapted, and it ends up being terrible (and in this case, it was all to do with being extremely woke, but I won't get into that). Similar thing happened with the Doctor Sleep film. Didn't really like the adapation and as usual there's glaring parts of the book missing.

I'm currently reading The Day of the Triffids (notice there's a theme going on here!), and can't remember a good adaption of that other than the one I used to be really scared of as a kid in the early 80s. Suprised it not been made (ruined) into a Hollywood movie by now.

 

Its called War of the Worlds and its on Fox. I remember the original Day of the Triffids film. As a kid it terrifiedme almost as much as the Childcatcher from Chitty chitty Ban Bang

 

Anyone into better call Saul on Netflix?
Absolute love Saul as a character. Show gets better and better.

 

Just finished season 3 of Ozark. Outstanding. A must watch series!

 

Finished all of Sunderland’s documentary second season on Netflix. Well worth a watch.

Tried homeland and can’t get into it at all. Not sure why.

Now started newsroom on sky box sets. Good so far

 

Completed the first season of Ozark this weekend. Really enjoyed it, it got better with each episode. Looking forward to the following 2 series now

 

Watched Le Mans 66 and Knives Out over the last couple of days. Brilliant films, both.

 

Watched mad max fury road (yes I was bored) and hostiles over last few days. Hostiles is brilliant

 

Loved Le Mans 66, Formula one is my motor sport so new nothing about the story before hand. Very gripping and sad, both Bale and Damon were fantastic and showed great chemistry.

 

Yeah I watched Sunderland til I die second series all in one go. Pretty interesting - especially the deadline day hours. I bet they can't believe it really, setting out to make a documentary about a massive club returning to the Prem, and it never happened - over two seasons. Now it looks like they aren't even going to make the playoffs this season - if it even gets finished!

I liked Homeland for the first two seasons, then lost interest as it started to get a bit silly. Same with Prison Break. I was totally hooked on that, until they escaped (oops, sorry spoiler alert!) and it all got a bit daft. Like you with Homeland, I have tried several times to watch Peaky Blinders, but just can't get into it. If you haven't watched Ray Donovan, give that a whirl, it's very good. As is Mad Men, and Better Call Saul (Breaking Bad obviously). Ozark for me has been one of the most outstanding shows that has slipped under many peoples radar. This latest season (third) has properly got people talking about it, so I hope it gets the attention it deserves. I've recently been dipping back into Peep Show and the first two seasons of Skins. The main question I want to ask Netflix is - "when will you put the complete series of Vic Reeves Big Night Out on?"

 

I am the same with Peaky blinders. I don’t know if it’s because everyone says it’s so good and I am late to it and feel like I should be really into it. But I dunno. The story doesn’t really appeal to me and I find it all looks a bit low budget?

 

I’ve previously watched the first series 1 and 2 of Ozark, but I’m currently rewatching them to make series 3 easy to follow. Still a great watch the second time round.

 

We are rewatching Outnumbered. Daughter loves it and I'm enjoying it again.

I'm watching quite a few music documentaries on YouTube.

 

I loved the first two series. After that I started to lose interest for reasons I won't go into for fear of spoiling the plot.

 

Outnumbered is great.
