I saw Son of a Bitch (Saxon's original name) many times at the Fforde Grene pub in Leeds.

I had a flat just around the corner and spent a lot of time in that pub.

I think Denim and Leather was the first 'metal' album I ever had. I borrowed the record from a mate's brother, taped it, then brought it back without him ever knowing!

Nice bit of nostalgia listening to it now.

I lived in Lascelles Terrace from 1976 to 1979.

I used to drink in the Fountain Head and Fforde Grene.

My wife (as of 1979) was the only female allowed in the tap room at the Ffordy, we knew everyone and everyone knew us. She was the safest person in the pub.

I played for the Fforde Grene pool team, we were actually very good.

Saw some amazing bands at the Ffordy.

The Fountain Head was one of my favourite pubs ever, especially on a Friday night, piano going, it was brilliant. Luxor View and Ashton Avenue. The Florrie was a great night too, beer was crap though

I don't remember most of them, there may be a reason for that of course.

One of the many Gong formats, with Steve Hillage I think.

    Lifetime

Tony McPhee (a favourite of mine).

Of course the amazing Ginger Baker.

    Allan Hull.

I was in three/ four times a week, there is literally hundreds I don't remember.

Just don't ask what the collection is for.

I played a lot of pool in that pub.

Never played for money but I'd play for a pint, used to get quite p1ssed and not spend anything!

    Brilliant choice.

The intro guitar feedback on the opening track - Exercise One - is both menacing and mesmerising. Genius.

John Verity, one of Bradford's own for those who don't recognise the name and longtime member of Argent. These are some of his own favourite songs, some written by him, some covers but all performed by him ...
