Sparkie needs to have a word in Vernam's ear does he really want to play in front of 8,773 at Lincoln or 16,000+ at Valley Parade every other week.

I think Vernam will choose the best pay packet for him and his family, and who can begrudge him.

It’s just not worked out for Cooke this season has it. A shame as he seems a good lad and a very capable footballer. A fresh start elsewhere the best result for both parties i think

 

At the moment his problem is inconsistency. Tues evening saw a marked improvement of late. He’s certainly had a very slow start. If Banks is fit I’d like to see him wide right today for his crossing and goal potential if anything else.

 

Fantastic signing, looked a class above on his first game when he’d not played football for a year. Full pre season and keep him fit and he’ll hit double figures. Only player at the club that when he’s on the ball in and around the box I think goal rather than covering my head. Didn’t expect it!

I dont blame Vernam chasing the best deal. Its a short life span and they only earn good money, not mega money at this level.

 

It says nothing of the sort. If he's had an offer of better wages and a higher level of football then good luck to the lad. Comments like that are a bit disrespectful to both the player and the club he's potentially moving to.

Jamie Walker didn’t sign for us because of the crowds and nor does any other player peddling that crap. It’s a PR stunt that the club milk.
If crowds meant anything then the two clubs in last nights league 1 playoffs would easily be Prem teams.

 

I'm sure the reaction he got when leaving the pitch on Saturday convinced him he'd made the right decision, but given he has a wife and young family to consider uprooting, I'm not buying that he only made up his mind after the Carlisle game and then got everything signed, sealed and delivered the very next day. It's a romantic notion to think it was the fans that clinched it, but I strongly suspect it was already pretty much a done deal before Saturday.
