Out of genuine interest what did Scannell do tonight that impressed you? I thought he was bang average.

Well it was limited, and I didn’t say impressed I said ok. He used body and skill to turn the defender on more than one occasion, he used his brain and got nearer to Doyle, so started to pick up the pieces and started to unsettle their defence. I think if he actually had strikers to pass to it might start to click.

 

Nothing to see tonight other than minutes on the pitch for our second string and if you think those rested have anything to fear, the answer on that showing is a big fat no.
Clinical finishing from a Championship side playing against a team of misfits.

Yep, said the same myself. Law should never have been replaced for starters. Head and shoulders better than anything in our midfield.

1We are a fourth division team not a premiership giant so why put out a weakened team out against a championship side? . The fans paid their money to see us progress into the next round not an experimental team ,you can do this on the training pitch in your own time not ours Mr.B.

 

I dont mind the odd change, but making 8 changes was taking the pi55 out of the supporters who could be bothered going, and shows you what he thinks of the competition.

My biggest beef was, that despite making 8 changes, he still played Doyle and Anderson.

 

The modern day player not capable of Tuesday/Saturday games especially this early in the season. We have players that have to be nursed through pre-season and into the season proper and we have some that don't want to be involved at all. It's not experimenting it's managing the snowflake generation.

 

It was the ideal opportunity to give the others a chance after 2 lacklustre performances. We we're never expected to win that game, our very recent (last 2 weeks) form told us that.
How else is he going to see if the rest of the squad can follow instruction?

Anyone going last night expecting a win is probably going cold turkey about now.

 

And then picked a side and set them up in such a way that it was almost impossible to succeed.

This is 100% on the manager imo.

The fans that paid hard earned money at the turnstiles didn't expect a win but they sure as hell expected the manager to treat it like we wanted to win. If i'd have known his attitude to last nights game i'd have stayed at home instead of going, ironically something i wish i had done on Saturday.

 

Sarcasm is usually the kindest way to respond to pure idiocy and somehow trying to turn last night into a positive is about as idiotic as I've seen so far this season.

This "learning" you're attempting to describe should have been done last season given the personnel involved. The fact you think he's still learning about these players in a very similar set up 3 games into a new season is absolutely baffling.

 

Just watched highlights and had to post this.
Watched Anthony O Connor giving it to Longridge about how he should have got out.
Paused it on the moment the ball comes through.
Quite clearly AOC didnt step up with the line but still fancied trying to blame others.

Idiocy in saying that we need to bring new players into the squad? Have you read the other posts I've made on this thread or jumped onto your high horse as usual? Sad state of affairs that when a notification pops up 1/5 times it is you contributing nothing. I've also said that it hasn't been good enough and we need to improve but ignore that if you want.

 

All we hear about is 4-3-3 but we've not played it once this season.
