Questionable use of the budget. He knew what the budget was but seems to have neglected midfield. Overspent on attack and defence? or expecting Reeves back sooner?

 

I think that is the issue, for all his great PR he has given us absolutely nothing to get excited about ON the pitch so far

 

Give me some names. Who do you think we can get. We've wasted one loan on Palmer who for me looks bang average. A player who no one will notice because he only makes 5 yard passes. Gibson doesn't deserve to be dropped based on his last two games so I really can't see Bowyer thinking he needs 3 new players in.
Everyone thought Longridge was a good signing on here 2 months ago. P. O'connor was being lauded over as the next big thing too. Neither played well tonight yet its Akpan and Doyle getting the grief. Doyle has been thrown under a bus from the minute he signed for us. Played up top on his own which isn't his game and then when a potential partner is bought in he's played in the no10 role.
Bowyer has made poor signings apart from Vaughan and Donaldson and hasn't singed players to fit his own system.

Come on, I’m a fan not a bleedin scout. Said about Palmer that I knew nothing about him (unlike others that claimed he was a great signing), so why would I give you names.

I do agree with you about Doyle though and the fact Bowyer has failed to address the midfield problem or bringing in players for his preferred formation

 

Yes, one of the years was when it was run at another track during the redevelopment period at York. I used to back him in handicaps at York and then when he won the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood. As you say, in the latter stages he lost his way, but what tremendous flag bearer for the north he was!

 

They aren't Bowyer signings any more than David Wetherall was a Stuart McCall signing.

 

P. O'connor was average for the 90mins I was there. You cant really say a cb was head and shoulders above anyone else after losing 4 nil at home.
Gibson has arguably been one of our better players so far. He did well in pre season and looked tidy in our last two games. He certainly hasn't done anything to deserve being dropped. The lad is 21 years old. He deserves some credit, especially as you are handing it out to P. O'Connor for 65 minutes of football where we let in 4 goals.

 

The players we are thinking about aren't going to be released in pre-season by their clubs.....they are the younger fringe players and the transfer window only closed for the championship clubs last week. Teams at that level have had fluid transfer activity up to now but now should know how they are stocked until January, so there will be more movements.

All loans are a gamble but we've had our fair share of decent ones over the years. In our predicament we've just got to hope we end up with another Reece Burke or Josh Cullen standard player ( but in midfield) and not one of the garbage ones!

It's irrelevant, but claiming they're Bowyer signings is stretching it. Pointlessly so, too, because there are enough new signings to judge without resorting to looking at cheap young kids he kept on.

Cracking team for that level. To be honest, probably under performed, that team should have walked the league instead of sneaking into play offs!
