I think if its all about representing Wales in Europe, as the welsh FA chief is suggesting.
Why don't they withdraw from the EFL and join the Welsh league.
We could then bring 6 teams up to league 2 and so on, thus improving their standards and income.
We all know the welsh clubs won't do that, as it would be financial suicide.

 

Only way they should be allowed to have entry via Welsh FA is to sign away entry via English FA competitions for ever, so even if they got to top of Premier League no Champions League

 

We have done ok away from home thus far .

 

Rather them than the other two teams. Home would have been better but never mind, we can give it a go.

 

I think it will depend on the next 3 games for them and if they are in the playoff mix as to how strong they’ll go.
We’d have had a better chance with Wrexham as there’s no way PP would have fielded their strongest XI.

 

Could say the same about us if we're in a good position to break into the top 3.

 

Theres a few of what is probably our best 18 squad members cup tied in this comp, so for sure we will make some changes from the league squad

 

crap draw in a crap competition. we have had a lot of away draws in cups this year Grimsby EFL. Morecambe FA cup. Stockport , Villa and now Rotherham in the piss pot.
In fact we have not been drawn at home at all, doing it the hard way!
Sorry i forgot Aldershot in the first round of the FA , hardly inspiring.

GREAT draw in a decent lower league comp.
Great to make it to the latter stages again, I enjoyed my last visit to Rotherhams stadium even though we lost (i think) nice ground to go to and not that far.

The game is to be played w/c 3rd February
Tuesday or Wednesday? Kick Off time? absolutely nothing about ticket prices.

 

Apparently Tuesday 4th February with a 7-30 Kick Off.

 

Probably because there's very little interest, even at this stage

Attendance won't be more than 1200

 

There needs to be a bigger incentive to win it.
Some people say the prize money is decent but it’s still not enough. Needs to be 1 million prize money or awarded the final playoff place in their relevant division even if that means the 6th or 7th team drops out.
Imagine if winning the EFL or FA cup didn’t get you a Europa place, the PL teams would probably forfeit them. They barely have any interest now.

 

Winners get £100k EFL Cup Winners get £100k

 

But also a Europa league place which then if they win that they get Champions league even if they don’t finish top 4 in PL.
Thats the only reason the PL clubs still enter it.

A massive incentive of winning the EFL trophy would be a play off place if not already in them.

 

For arguments sake, let's say the team in 24th wins the cup. Are you seriously suggesting they should go from relegation to having a chance of promotion to the league above? And that it would be okay for the team 6 points clear of 8th to drop out of the playoffs in order for that to happen? And the team in 22nd, that have fought so hard to avoid the drop now get told it was all in vain?
