    Me!

The rules on this particular site exclude the promotion of political parties and campaigns. There was a clue in your post which had the detailed manifesto for a particular political party removed earlier.

This is what the site's rules say ...

'We welcome political discussion on the site in the appropriate sub-forum without personal abuse or derogatory remarks. However, we draw a line at using the site for promoting the membership of any particular political party or campaign.'

Others have had their avatars removed in the past for using them in a similar manner. Your views on particular political parties can be discussed openly but the site is not a vehicle for promoting a particular political party or campaign.

No, of course it doesn’t. But numerous metrics point towards social attitudes being more liberal in the south than the north.
Try this one for size. According to the latest YouGov projections, there are 27 constituencies where Reform UK is leading the Tories as the biggest contender to Labour. Support for Reform UK pretty unambiguously equates to being right of centre with socially conservative views, I’m sure you’ll agree. Of those 27 seats, 11 are in Yorkshire, 8 in the North East and one in South Wales. The rest are in Lancashire and Notts. There is not a single English constituency south of Nottingham (including the Kent coastal towns) where Reform UK are ahead of the Tories.
That is a massive difference between the north and the more populous south.
Like I said, the south is a different world and those Reform supporters on here who think they are typical of the country as a whole are deluding themselves.

So today, our current PM left the D-Day commemorations early in order to do an interview on the campaign trail for ITV. His own party are questioning what the hell he is doing as Cameron and Starmer were pictured with world leaders after he had left to repeat his £2000 lie for a TV interview now airing till next week.

The man is a disaster, is he trying to take the Tories to single digit seats?

Where has anyone said that reform supporters think they are typical of the country as a whole? I personally have no interest in reform although I would like to see a different party to either Conservative or Labour, both of whom have consistently showed they care for nothing but their own interests and not the interests of the public at large. If I were to vote, quickly off the top of my head in no order I want a party with a clear workable plan for the countries future, where utilities are in the hands of the public. A social care system fit for for a country with 'Great' in its title, an NHS reform and social services fit for purpose. That said I also want a country strong on law and order and party who will tighten border controls to a point where there is no way of getting in without being able to contribute. The best.chance I have of at least one of those coming to fruition is Labour. How it's all accounted for remains to be seen but let's cut to the chase, my taxes have been going up every term under this Tory government.

Now being reported that he didn't intend to go in the first place. Utter 4rsehole. I can't even comprehend how he could think like this.

If the Tories have anything left in them, they'll dump him right now, because he's an absolute liability.

If anyone is thinking of voting to make Sunak PM for the next 5 years, seriously what are you thinking. This is just unforgivable and it's part of the job of being PM.

It's right for him to apologise, however he probably needs to get in front of a camera and not from a "tweet".

I notice the timing of the apology seemed to tie in with his junior minister being torn a new A hole on every media interview with it being the lead question. It's no surprise that they originally tried to test the water to see if it would blow over, however with Penny Moudaunt scheduled to be on the debate tonight, and being from the Royal Navy I can only imagine what the conversation was with her this morning.

Seriously, that's all you have got. The PM of the UK disappears from D-Day's 80th anniversary to record an interview for ITV and you bring up with something many don't agree with from someone who did so in his own time, that's all you have?

That is truly shocking and so disrespectful. I just cannot think why he thought it was a good idea to do this.

I understand he has since apologised, but too late. I suspect a lot of the floating voters will make him pay for this.

I've seen this 5min interview with Sam Coates from Sky News now.

Basically he apologises but then pushes back saying it's not fair to politicalise the fact that he left the D-Day events to record an interview as part of his election campaign.

He also repeats the same things over and over, and what is striking is he seems to point at his diary as the reason he left as it has been booked in advance. He apology isn't at all sincere, he's very techy and it wasn't his fault as it was booked in his diary months ago that he would be leaving early.

Has a PM ever resigned during an election campaign?

Isn’t there some debate about whether he was going to go to the commemoration at all?

That would be worthy of his resignation alone.
