Akpan is a real enigma. It's very clear that he can read the game well, see and execute a good pass, get forward and be an aerial threat at corners. But with his physique he should have been bossing the midfield last season. But he just drifted out of games and too often didn't put the effort in.
Maybe his morale and form were badly affected by the omnishambles that was last season. If he stays let's hope he responds to the better balanced squad, better management and the much more positive vibe around the club. If he plays to his obvious potential he ought to be a dominant force in L2.

 

They should all be Dominant force in L2. Roll on August, odds of 4/5 to beat Cambridge get that mortgage paid off.

Now that would he a top signing and in my opinion, would top off the others. Mayor is a good player and has delivered in the league recently. Conway may also be a good player, but he doesn’t have the same recent track record.

 

I dread to think about what your dreams may involve Fordy. But the left sided player I hear we’re in-for is Danny Mayor. Not a done deal though and he’s in demand.

 

And Plymouth. Obvious connection to Lowe but I’d imagine that the location may be off-putting. Especially if he has family.

Hopefully it’s another one where we can outdo Tranmere by offering a longer contract. Contract length will be a big, big thing for lower league players.

I get that. But I’d rather a player who has proved himself recently at this level than someone who could do the job but as he hasn’t been at this level, it’s an uncertainty.
