I'd take a defeat for the greater good if it gets rid of Hughes.

Let’s make a statement tonight. Sack the whole senior management team within the next hour.

Let Ridehalgh, Oyegoke, Derbyshire etc and co who are not good enough know that their time at Bradford is done. They can leave in January.

Let’s build around Halliday, Cook, Walker, Pointon and Wilson.

 

There's no grafter in the middle.
No legs to get us up the pitch.

Weak loanees.
Inexperienced players.
Players who are coming to the end of their careers.
Players who don't know how to get promotion.
A manager who doesn't know how to get a team up.

It's never gonna work.

 

Confidence is massive in any profession, but particularly football and you could see it drain away after the Lewis howler. You can't hang that on Hughes. The way we played up to that point had me confident we could get something from the game. The response after their goal was a carbon copy of so many games over the last 18 months. Players going into their shell, making wrong decisions and playing as individuals rather than a team, and that is on Hughes. I don't know who's in the spam folder right now, but I can't see Hughes being given the push just yet. Particularly after the Rupp show of support after the Newport game. If its a case of him staying then Hughes has to get his selections down to a core 22 players and get some familiarity going. Constant chopping and changing is killing any chance of building relations in the team. He needs to urgently bring in a keeper to support / challenge Lewis, as his revelation about being in bits after Carlisle indicates he might struggle mentally.

Both Hughes and Adams are right in saying that chopping and changing hasn't worked so far, but that to me points to the men making the selections being at fault. We say the same every time, that the next appointment is crucial, but it really will be. I'm at a loss and suspect most supporters are too. Stick or twist, who cares. I've no confidence in either decision. It looks like at least another 18 months of being the laughing stock of league 2.

 

I’ve said the same all season.
Pre match press conferences are just 2 or 3 minutes of cliche filled drivel that keeps a certain section of the fan base happy by convincing them that stuff is gonna change.
They just trot out the same old stuff about “good weeks training”
“Down to the players to put right”
“Appreciate the fans backing”
Etc.Etc.

Last nights post match interview could have been from any of Hughes’ defeats over the last 18 months.

Same old same old.

 

It was a good trip out last season, day out in Liverpool with my lad then a bouncing away end, amazing what noise 900 or so away fans can make when they all pull together.

 

I’m going but it’s got to the point where I’m now hoping Hughes gives us something to boo about rather than cheer about

Cant help but feel that a win tonight would just prolong the pain and delay the inevitable

 

What's the deal with Pointon BTW. Have I missed something!? I can't fathom why he's not starting never mind on the bench.

You're watching the wrong game mate.

I'm as critical as anyone but that first half was decent and we really should be in front. I certainly can't criticise Hughes for that, it went pretty much to plan apart from the individual error from the keeper and they missed chances.

 

Walker is playing his heart out

 

Oyegoke. The fact he’s playing. In midfield. For 90 mins. Is quite astounding.

 

Wilson looks a real talent. The only positive tonight

 

Jesus Hughes excuses so far..referee was poor, never easy coming to Tranmere on a Tuesday...didnt deserve to lose, happy with the performance...deluded fool

Never once admitted any shortcomings on his own behalf while he’s been here.

 

If an omnishambles is the same as a clusterf#ck then I agree.
Good full debut from Wilson (expect him to be dropped next match if MH is still here ), however Walker man of match in my opinion. He never stopped, which of course is the minimum we should expect from every player.
