Aye I don't like Pressley neither. He's literally achieved nothing has a manager in England as he? yet slated Phil Parkinson and his choice of tactics! Blimey!
Anyways, my view on the game:
NKP first time back at VP after leaving, not sure what kind of reception he will get but hope we focus on ourselves than him/the opposition.
With NKP & Byron Webster likely to be the centre back partnership, I really hope we don't try and lump/hoof it. We need to work around these and I hope Bowyer as been working on it through-out the week (minus the mid-week game obviously)
More minutes in the belt for Cooke, Ismail, Connolly, Pritchard - They should be getting fitter and sharper as the days go by. Donaldson needs a rest so I hope Oteh or McCartan comes in for him. Wouldn't mind seeing Anthony O'Connor playing the holding midfield role neither!
Vaughan one yellow away from a suspension which is a worry, thankfully it's just the one game, I'd rather him get it tomorrow and miss Scunthorpe at home than miss Swindon away.
Hopefully we put Paudie O'Connor back in the eleven. Always seem to be stronger with him & he's capable of a goal or two!
I believe we've scored the same amount as Carlisle in the league, but they've conceded a lot more (15 in total) - hopefully we can exploit their defence, would try play Cooke/McCartan and try play it through the middle (only at times) - If we play 4-4-2 I just hope Pritchard & Connolly only cross the ball when we literally have people in the box. Would be nice to see Pritchard try take some defenders on, not seen it from him yet if i'm honest but I love his set-piece ability however.
People may laugh at this one but I think Connor Wood has made that LB position his own now. I hope we can get him into the game and perhaps overlap Pritchard and give him an option down that side?

I would take McCall without hesitation, Parky however can do one.
I preferred watching McCall's team, it was pretty succesful in the league, and got further than Parky's team did in the same division.
football's an entertainment industry and Parky doesn't know the meaning of the word. his 'football' I use that term loosely, deserves to be in the 1970's, and in history where it belongs.bantamlad92 likes this. -
McCall worked miracles considering he had that monkey Rahic on his shoulder. Parky chose to leave rather than work with him. So decide who had the most difficult task.

I agree with @Ricc that Stuart was unfairly sacked and should never have left the club.
Part of me hopes he gets a third stint, though maybe in another 5-10 years as opposed to imminently - and only if he achieves some level of success elsewhere.
Having said that, the idiotic Rahic regime aside, it isn't a debate that Parkinson is the better manager with a far superior track record, and their respective accomplishments at Bradford City don't compare. Ricc's just stuck on a stubborn non-argumentBronco likes this. -
I wouldn't want Stuart back for a 3rd time and to be honest I'm not convinced that Parky would do as well a 2nd time round but I prefer to look forward rather than behind.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...RonnieBrown likes this. -

Talking to a Carlise fan on holiday described Pressley's football as the football that he once criticised us for playing under Parky.

Apart from Nahki who was without doubt a great find, the rest were lower league players with limited ability but boy did they use what ability well.
There were very few days going to a match I didn't think we won't get anything here, and Valley Parade was a ground many opposition teams knew it would not be an easy 90 minute and they would have to play very well to come away with anything. -
if making it a chore rather than a pleasure going to VP, making wanting to leave the ground at half time or earlier because of how poor it was, going on a run of 1 win in 21, losing 6-0 at home to Bristol City, and making taking the entertainment out of what is supposed to be an entertainment interesting is 'worth it' then yes it was worth it.
f*ck Parky, f*ck dark age 1970's kick lumps out of the opposition and hoof it to the corners football, and f*ck making a hobby and a pleasureable experience miserable and a chore to do.
I'll tell you now, if offered Parky back tomorrow I would not touch him with a barge pole. I'm only just getting some form of enthuiasm back after Rahic killed it all, the last thing we need is to bring a darkcloud back over VP by going back to a bygone era with a relic of a manager who is so far past his 'best' (whatever that is) we might aswell be trying to appoint Don Revie.
it's not popular on here (because City fans are backward) but Stuart McCall's team played the best football at VP we've seen in years, he achieved more in the play offs than Parky did, and was sacked for going on a run that nowhere near as bad as the worst run's Parky presided over and we endured. oh and we were unbeaten at home, for a full season, against every team in the league. that includes those that won the title and got automatic promotion. -
I'm sure City fans much preferred the Terry Dolan,Terry Yorath, John Docherty, Frank Stapleton, Lennie Lawrence, Chris Kamara, Paul Jewell, Chris Hutchings, Stuart McCall, Jim Jefferies, Steve Smith, Nicky Law
Bryan Robson, Colin Todd, David Wetherall, Stuart McCall, Wayne Jacobs, Peter Taylor, Peter Jackson, Colin Cooper, Stuart McCall, Greg Abbott, Simon Grayson, Michael Collins, David Hopkin , Martin Drury days.
Take Trevor Cherry, Paul Jewel, and Chris Kamara, out and how many of the above managers actually won anything with Bradford City all nearly men Parkinson went on to improve the team/club season on season.
Stuart's teams might have played the most attractive football in a long time but it was all about possession football not the best in the final third, he won nothing under his managerial times at Valley Parade, you're quite right Stuart did take us further than Phil Parkinson did, it could be argued Stuart bottled the final against Millwall by playing Charlie up top on his own otherwise winning at Wembley would have been a great achievement in his first season back. -
Parky however and his team took a dive the previous year, against the same opponent, a stage earlier. now that's bottling it.
