Just seen that Zach Clough has gone to Carlisle.

That could have been a decent signing for us maybe. Him and Cooke fighting it out for the number 10 role.

As I mentioned on the Papa John thread Nathen Bishop has joined Mansfield from Man Utd on a season-long loan. A decent prospect who United have high hopes for hence why he was named as the 3rd choice keeper in Squads (especially in Europe) last season. We signed him from Southend where before he was 21 he played over 30 times in league one so should be a good signing for them at League Two level.

Actually slightly surprised he was allowed to goto a league two team tbh, outside perhaps Salford but I guess maybe the thinking is he will simply get more minutes in League Two whereas maybe a league One team may initially bring him in as backup to a more experienced starter

This is a great signing for Mansfield.

He is a keeper that Utd rate highly I hear. People forget that Cheltenham used the loan market well last season and signed a keeper from Villa on loan.

A good keeper at all levels in vital.

I like that signing for Carlisle also.

He's still only 26 so it's not about retirement for him and chilling out.

Yeah, I kind of feel that's something City need. Both of your keepers are decent at this level but seem to have glaring issues. O'Donnell should be able to do well, he has played at higher levels but party from that spell at Walsall he hasn't really stepped up hence how often he has been let go with years still on his deals way too often. Hornby if he was younger you might say was a prospect with sticking with but he is 26 and while keepers have a longer career in general and their peak is a couple of years older than outfield players I'm just not sure he is of the level a team who should be pushing for promotion needs.

I always feel if you get that diamond of the Keeper, the two CB's and the more defensive of the midfielders right you have the foundation to build on but if just one of that 4 wrong you screw the trust between them up and it throws all of them off their game and when that heart of the team isn't working it's hard to make the rest of it work no matter how much talent you have in those other positions

Paul Glatzel has joined Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan.

Good signing that from Liverpool. A young forward that Liverpool rate but has been unlucky with injuries.

Marc McNulty appears to be signing for Tranny Rovers. Callum McManaman already signed for them. Two good signings for this level

Apart from his exceptional season at Coventry his goals ration is not that good, like it or not Vaughan's scoring boots will take some filling IMO.

Picked a forward looking club with a proven manager, good luck to the lad it will be local for him compared with Cambridge.
