I totally agree on the governance bit - absolutely spot on. However, as I said earlier I am prepared to cut Rupp some slack on the basis he has accepted responsibility in the role he played for last seasons mess. Now the test for him is has he learnt from those mistakes? So far he is showing he has.

Really?! Did you actually simplify this debate on the basis we lost a game to a club on a lower budget?

What about the times we beat teams on a higher budget?

Wow, if only the game was that simple.

But at the 1st chance takes the money to cover up his loses.

What's his vision for the club? Do you know?

Is he buying any assets to make the club more safe in the future?

I'm being facetious. My over riding point is that whilst i see evidence of Rupp having personal integrity, the fact is that hes taken this club backwards significantly. Our start has been underwhelming and he only gets more credit when hes shown an ability to lead this club forward.

On any given day, smaller budget teams can beat bigger budget teams. In that sense it's no disgrace losing to cheltenham. But given where we were when Rupo arrived, it's a disgrace we're even having to play them.

Nothing personal just think discussing that subject is counterproductive and I think the collective attitude of fans goes a long way to success on the pitch.

You may have a point there. Far too many of our fans tolerate mediocrity.

The Mcburnie fee is enough to cover our current entire deficit or at the very least, make it manageable to the point where no financial intervention is required. If that fee is being paid in instalments which has thus forced Rupp to invest his own hard earned cash then it makes not a jot of difference to him as the outstanding Mcburnie payments will go straight towards paying him back.

This isn't my own personal opinion, several sources connected to the club and the club themselves have already come out and openly stated how the Mcburnie money will be used- which is financing the debt. If they were lieing to us and the debt is in fact being covered by Mr Rupp then we'll have the Mcburnie cash waiting around and have a January/summer spending spree to look forward too. Not only is that unlikely to happen but I highly doubt anyone's affiliation with Rupp is based around money we may or may not spend.

Provide me with real evidence that Rupp has invested into the club, and I'll beleive you. All you and @JimmyBantam@JimmyBantam have at the moment is guesswork which goes against everything we've been told and involves far too many assumptions for me to start singing Rupp's praises.

I really don't think it's a bad thing if we're self sufficient, and to seek to prove otherwise isn't really my intention. But Rupp has put money in, and will have to again, even if he then takes it back out. That's a fact, and that's him financing the club. That's also a fact.

But the thing is, it's bad enough that we're using player sales and cup runs to finance deficits. It would be much worse if we were relying on non-club generated investment, even though there is a cultural delusion among football fans that such investment can be sustainable long term.

    That's just naivety.

Any spending spree to chase a promotion will have a legacy of expenditure - unless all the incoming players are gone again come June. Then we need another and another, and the legacy of those sprees mounts up, and with NONE of the divisions outside the Premier League able to come close to enabling self sufficiency, it's easy to see how it spirals unless you're one of the few who reach such a status.

But either way, wanting to spend more now is just a pointless endeavour. We don't need to spend more, we're already overspending, and there is no future McBurnie-type income.

So question: what exactly is the issue here even IF Rupp breaks even - which he obviously won't.

Look, I accept your current stance on the matter. Based on Rupp's ownership there can be no dispute we have taken a step back because we have.

The point I'm trying to convey is, the mistakes made to get us to where we are were made in the past. We are all mighty miffed - to put it politely - about it. My focus and judgement of Rupp is now based on the actions he is and has taken to address it. You seem stuck on past events.

As I said, we all make mistakes but we can get better by learning from them. Some mistakes are unacceptable and you don't get a second chance - I'm think of you Rahic - whilst others can rectify it and be stronger for it. Rupp accepts the role he played in the mess but is also doing something to sort it. Let's see the direction he takes us from this point forwards. Give him the chance under his new structure.

I'm surprised at your post FB, Please explain what more SR could have done this season , given that he's not English, not a City fan, and until recently not even a football fan. You're right, lets get Edin back.
