Only if that run saves them from ignominy our management achieved the aim Hurst as yet to do that

 

A couple of sentences within that inerview that confirms to me that Trueman knows we are not good enough, whatever formation he goes with, the most telling one for me was when he said there was a lack of quality.

 

When we played Grimsby at their place (T&S 3rd game and pre-Hurst) they were above us in the table. No doubting we have done well in comparison to Grimsby since then.

 

And not long ago their mundane tactics hadn't been found out.
No plan B.
I was hoping they had more in their locker but it would appear after today's interview we don't have the quality Harrogate do.

Then please can we get rid of the dead wood and employ a proven manager to recruit his own and take us up automatically next season.

That is what we should be doing, aiming for and expecting. Another season in League two - how painful and soul destroying. Blaise, undetermined, zero fight, negative, weak and soft. Embarrassing

 

And start again and be calling for another manager in September. We can not look to get rid of managers every time they hit a poor patch. I think Ryan Sparks has had a good start at transforming this club but if he was to give into what some want that opinion would soon change . T&S will be here next year and will start with a clean slate and will be judged from then. The way it should be

 

Not the exact words Park my interpretation but come on we can't muster up a team to beat Harrogate Town these days.
We've come along way (tongue in cheek) I remember when we used to get beat by the likes of Nottingham Forest and Newcastle but we used to compete not capitulate without a fight.

 

I agree but at the end of the Stuart era we bottomed out the improvement with only one transfer window was there when Stuart was sacked Sparks said the aim was for safety and definitely promotion next season the first part has been achieved now they need the backing for the second part

 

I listened to the post match interview with Raynor and was impressed with his honestly. He knows now the squad of players isn't good enough for what he is looking to achieve. It's clear the input of certain players disappoints him, clearly not doing the job he's asked them to do. The best managers in football are ultimately ruthless as are CEOs, Sparks hasn't hidden and has just posted about the need to stand up and be counted of you want to be successful. Fans need to understand you can't just take off the mythical handbrake and suddenly be a promotion team, you need the players to be able to do that and the truth is we simply don't have the quality to do that.

 

It was a better interview than the other night and I agree he kept mentioning what they can achieve (or not) with 'this group' - first time I can remember him talking about a 'lack of quality' in what they currently

 

Disappointing to hear that Canavan is out for the rest of the season.
I doubt we will pick up many more points with the O'Connors in central defence.

 

Really good comments RogT, and like you I was impressed with the quick response from Sparks to the past couple of games and what he said - posted earlier he would see this as a massive opportunity lost and he said as such. He knows it is not good enough and I am still very confident in him as our CEO

 

It's a big call from a new CEO and shows an attitude that he isnt happy with what he has seen lately. Impressive because the buck stops with him, its the sort of comment I want to see from my CEO, it puts out a clear message to the players that anyone underperforming will be replaced in the summer. Players been told they are playing for their futures.

 

Just seen Mr Sparks Twitter post and I agree with you that he isn’t a happy bunny.

I had my doubts about him but I think he’s the right guy to get us moving in the right direction but it must be all on next season for promotion ,not just promotion but a top three finish.

We can’t spend more than another season in this God awful division and if that means been ruthless in the management front so be it but we also must bring in quality players to stand any chance of moving forward.

I think Sparks knows this.

 

He could have easily said nothing, or even kept things in house. This is a clear statement that league 1 football has to be earned by the players and management. If they ain't upto it I am more than confident Sparks will make changes.

 

So I would ask as he was involved with the transfer dealings that brought a player like Rowe to the club did he think Danny could play their system although he hasn't at other clubs, right or wrong his goal scoring record suggests to me he should be a starter, and if the answer is as you say the lack of quality in the squad why sign the lad, its not a criticism but a genuine question.
Have we signed Danny with a view to him being a big contributor goal wise from midfield next season ?.
