I watched Cook go off closely.

The duo made zero effort to contact him, no fives, no h/shakes nothing. He bypassed them and went up the steps. It stood out a MILE

 

Wellens has spoken about being offered short term deals until the end of the season but said he turned then down because it wasn't what he wanted, so from that I think we can deduce he is free to take up whatever job he wants, when he wants.

 

Listening to Sparks, it sounds as though either:

1) The new manager is a done deal and they’re just biding their time to announce, possibly out of respect to T&S and maybe with the anniversary of the fire tomorrow, or more likely
2) The manager is someone involved in the playoffs.

I’m now starting to think its Adams. But I’d prefer Wellens.

 

McInnes used to clean Stuart’s boots at Rangers I think. I like him, he’s a gritty character (he looks the part of a down-beaten, takes no shit Scottish alcoholic detective working the streets of Glasgow for an ITV drama) but Aberdeen’s forward line has been about as potent as ours this season.

As for Lennon. I’ve never forgiven him for sitting on the ball in front of the City fans away at Leicester that time. It was literally right in front of us. Saying that I don’t think he’s deserved some of the shit he gets and behind the bravado is probably a decent lad. But it’s a no from me.

 

I think well done to Sparks for being so decisive and also for recognising the turn around they gave us. I have been bored witless as much as any City fan over past four or five weeks, but we were only outside bottom 2 of league on goal difference when they stepped in and no-one had a clue where next point was coming from. I respect them for stepping up to that challenge. However, something was clearly amiss toward the end and there wasn’t a realistic option to keep them on. So just getting on with it was the right move, I believe. I am sure they have learned masses and hopefully with a bit of distance they will acknowledge that and accept it was time for someone else to take the reins. First step of a pivotal Summer that is vital for the future of the club.

If Sparks' barometer is assessing the 'mood of the fans' we'll have a new coach every six months!

But let me reiterate what I said earlier - yes, I would feel Sparks has stabbed me in the back, just as he did with Stuart (although Stuart may not have felt the same way given the circumstances), but that's only because of Ryan Sparks' poor handling and management of the situation.

None of the ill feeling needs to be there.

The ill feeling Sellars supposedly feels is a result of the 18 month extension which should ALWAYS have been six. Sparks has got the contracts all wrong on two separate occasions, and that has nothing to do with whether or not it was right to replace T&S.

 

I can't find any so its either a done deal our I'm rubbish trying to find betting odds, probably the later.

 

How does that make Sellars feel better? He was given a job to do, as far as he's concerned he no doubt feels he did it, if Sparks didn't bungle the contract situation he probably wouldn't feel as unfairly treated. He had an extra year left on his deal, it was made abundantly clear the target wasn't the play offs even on our run of form, so in no way has he failed against any brief he was given.

If the above is directed at me and my opinion of the situation, you don't need to bother; I haven't given my opinion on whether or not T&S should be here, just the fact that Sparks has bungled the contract situation and made a real hash of things. I don't blame either T&S for feeling hard done to or wanting to leave, all of the bad feeling they may or may not have is because of Sparks' poor management.

Nobody on here can say Sellars should feel he's had a fair hearing given he was afforded 18 months in which to mount a promotion bid, NOT six.

 

I don't KNOW anything, sorry. A bit of heresay, but nothing I'd bank on, so to speak.

 

He stormed off because he was pissed off at how the season had ended. Call it professional pride if you like. One player who really does give a shit.

 

I like the way we've acted decisively and ruthlessly. T&S not yet ready for a promotion pushing side, we've made the call and gone out and seemingly got the man we want within 48 hours of the season ending.

Fair play. Its massive summer and we can't afford to dick about.

 

That's disappointing to hear, he did a decent job and should have been treated with respect - but I'd be absolutely stunned if he was next season anyway. He was a loan for T&S, T&S have gone, blank slate for the incoming gaffer, so unless he wants someone in the exact same mould as the aging journeyman target man that is Andy Cook, he's gone for good.

Only way he was staying was if we stuck with the same management IMHO.
