Apologises Park I said 10 games earlier, as Dave has pointed out worse over 15. Relegation form over a longer period than McCall had(13 games).

I admire your belief in the current set up and understand the point around being a laughing stock. The concern for me is that we ignore the form over the last 10 or more games, the lack of intent to win games, even when the chance to make the play offs was there, the lack of a plan b, the failure to recognise poor performances, the lack of goals, playing one up front, like for like subs, playing Evans when he offers very little, failing to experiment when all hope of promotion had gone, switching keepers because of the opponents, bizarre interviews and bringing in loanees and not using them. Apart from that, you believe its right that these 2 should carry the hopes of all City fans into next season.

I'll concede there's no guarantee with any appointment but sticking with these guys is the biggest gamble we can make. We're still in decline and finishing in a worse position year on year. The margin for error is getting smaller. Start poorly next season and at what point do we replace them? If you analyse the performances no one outside the club would laugh if they were replaced. They tried and are failing.

I wish I could say I had tremendous faith in T&S, however I don’t have any more faith in them than I would Wellens, Adam’s, Evans or anyone else mentioned in despatches.
My view is based purely on the following.......
They took charge of the worst City squad I’ve ever watched, no discipline, no leaders, 11 strangers, total mess. I get @Fordy117@Fordy117 stance IF you believe the SM view that “Ey when injuries clear up well be flying” rhetoric.....
I didn’t and am 100% convinced McCall would have taken us down. T&S took that mess of a squad and turned them into a well drilled, difficult to beat team. That’s what all managers try to achieve in a new club, tighten up at the back and build from there. They achieved their objective, kept us in the league, job done. However because of the run we went on everyone including myself got carried away and thought we could make the playoffs. With hindsight absolutely no way, dreamland nonsense. Under Parky we scraped into the playoffs on 69 points, not enough this time to get a playoff position. Run through that promotion team and tell me a single player from this year that would have made the first 11? I can’t name one!! Paudie might displace McHugh on the bench, same with Watt V Atkinson. Erm.....that’s it really.
So to sum up, they did their job, got found out at the end, Pep & Klop would have failed with this team. I just want to give them a chance and for the first time in four years get some stability back into this car crash of a football club.

We 'scraped into the playoffs' with Parky's team on the back of 64 games, some terrible injuries and being the first lower tier team in history to get to a Wembley final in a major cup competition.

Our cup exploits badly impacted our league form. Without it, I'm very confident that that side would have gone up automatically because the core got us into the League 1 playoffs. After we lost at Wembley, we were down to 11th 10 points adrift and even despite the exertions came back to make the playoffs.

It was a great achievement with all the games that season we needed a bit of luck with Exeter imploding

I agree with absolutely everything in your post, however you have missed my point, that being not one of the existing team gets near that starting 11, in fact I’m struggling to put any of them on the bench. That was a promotion ready squad, this one is a million miles away.

Patience and loyalty, the two commodities this club has used up.
Sparks has to put aside both these and make hard decisions.
Stick with T&S and potentially be in the exact same position next season as Stu come December, then have to look to somebody else to turn around the results as dramatically as T&S did.
Sparks see's how they work on a daily basis, has he faith in them ( and turnbull) to bring in players required to challenge for top three, and make it work, if so, then roll with it.
However, if there's beyond reasonable doubt, then he's taking a big risk on the future of the club, in 12 short months it could be goodnight Vienna
Without Patience and Loyalty Sparks has a huge decision to either stick or twist

I hope Sparks takes the opportunity on Saturday to use his charm and persuade Derek Adams that Bradford City should be his next project.

Two promotions with Ross County, one promotion with Plymouth, and whatever happens in the next couple of weeks or so, he has guided Morecambe to their highest position in their history.

We need to move heaven and earth to persuade him to rock up here in the summer

If Ryan was the slightest bit interested in a new man at the helm I say it's a good call @Idlebantam@Idlebantam but I think he will stick with T & S.
Ryan gave Stuart an extension and two weeks later sacked him, similarly after giving T & S a permanent contract I can't see him doing the same, many would say 2 poor decisions, where others might say we have a CEO who can accept he made the wrong call and acted on if as soon as he could.

it's a hard one, people are quick to forget we won five on the bounce. were the wins luck? is the bad form down to the players or the management? were the losses down to tactically being found out? or was it due to the lack of quality going forward? these are the questions sparks needs to answer for us to be promoted.

Personally I would be happy either way, and we should also remember these two are incredibly young as managers so should improve! younger than collins and doing a far better job....

Give them next season and if it's not up to snuff get Adams in no matter the cost!

If at any point in the good run the performances were matching the results then I'd be inclined to think they can rediscover that form. The problem is that the performances were very similar to what we are seeing now and it doesn't give any confidence at all that much will change after the summer.

That for me is the worrying part can we give them time next season, a mediocre start where we are around the top half of the league would not be satisfactory for the majority of fans (including me) so do we stay with them hoping it comes good or then make the change.
The new guy has inherited a squad that he believes wont get us promotion so he has the Januarg window to try and rectify the situation a big call one way or the other for Ryan, personally with what we have seen recently my vote would be to go for someone like Adams as has been mentioned earlier.

If the results we had during the great run we had were down to luck the poor results must be down to bad luck. The fact is we weren’t playing poorly were winning and deserved to be winning even though some were by narrow margins. Our performances have dropped and we are losing by narrow margins

Problem with that is I really don't want to watch another 2 seasons of league 2 football. We need to go up next season. I'm having to think hard about renewing next season, never mind the one after.

Would a mediocre start be acceptable to fans with a manager from the magic roundabout

That's pretty much football for an average league 2 football side. Fine margins and all that. We could be going for automatic next season, likewise we could just as easily be camped in the bottom 4. There is very little difference in the teams in what is a very poor standard league. Look at Blackpool, hitting the playoffs after a poor start with a manager with no first team experience. No one can predict what will happen in this league next season.
