Just let this sink in:
If we’d have won just 3 of these past 5 pathetic defeats we’d have been sat in the play-offs right now.
Crawley, Harrogate, Tranmere, Port Vale, Salford.
We got 0 points from these 5 games when we were chasing the play offs.
Trueman and Sellars - thank you but it’s time to step down at the end of the season.

Theres no way fans will put up with T & S style of play when allowed back in the ground , they will turn them into a shivering mess in no time
So far they have had it easy , when 10,000 fans are on your back it will be hellish for themStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Why would you play 4-2-3-1 with three proper midfielders in your squad and no back up?
They played it because it was their preferred formation and it's a modern philosophy that fans have been bitching about lacking for the past decade or so.
The push back came when we had two in form strikers and couldn't accommodate them both, which in turn led to super-repetitive and predictable substitutions and tactics.WilsdenBantam, Welshbantam, Faithful Bantam and 4 others like this. -

I know I’m in the minority & won’t change anyone’s mind but bloody hell I’m glad I don’t work for a lot of people on here.
I can’t understand the complete dismissal of T&S who have come in and done exactly what was asked of them. Kept us up, got us into a safe mid table position. Overachieved massively at the start, faded badly at the end but overall did what was asked.
We’ve had so many “big name” managers who’ve promised lots and achieved zero. One of the best CV’s out there belongs to the now Salford manager, that went well.....
So why do people think someone with “experience” will do better than T&S??
Every management pairing had to start somewhere. If the PE teaching Cowleys had turned up here a few years ago rather than at Lincoln all hell would have broken loose, I’m sure several posters would have threatened not to renew their season ticket whilst others would have bemoaned the clubs lack of ambition.
So we ditch T&S and bring in Adam’s, the players we have don’t suit his style, Cooke & Watt will look bemused in midfield as the ball gets hoofed over their heads, he’d need 2-3 transfer windows to sort the team out which we wont give him because we don’t have the patience, sack him off just like Bowyer because we don't like his playing style and yet again are left with someone’s half built expensive but disjointed squad.
Or we could try and build something from the ground up for a change.
In T&S I saw progression, they devised a playing style that suited the squad and tightened the defence. Having Cooke, Watt, Sutton in the centre with later Rowe dropping deep swamped teams playing 4-4-2 Evans & Clarke dropped deep to protect the full backs it worked fantastically well until other teams sussed us out.
I really believe they knew this would happen and tried to bring in players in the window who could switch it to a more conventional 4-4-2 when needed. Burrell was brought in to play off a number 9, Steven’s, Crankshaw & Vernam all brought in to play out wide, Cook as a traditional number 9. For lots of reasons it hasn’t worked BUT is work in progress. They’ve so far had one very rushed transfer window which is not enough time to build a squad. We’ve tried big name managers I can’t remember one ever working, let’s try an alternative strategy for a change and give them time!Silverbantam, hippo, Morley Bantam and 4 others like this. -
When you look at Sunderland. 4th in the league and looking like it will be the play offs. However, Hull just been relegated, Peterborough reacted like a club determined to go up automatically considering they finished outside the play offs last season. Then bloody Lincoln who are a shock to be up there.
I think Sunderland will take finishing 4th and fancy their chances in the play offs. Only Portsmouth to really worry about.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...vladimir, The Evidence, Rocket and 4 others like this. -

Can’t imagine Rupp couldn’t afford the like of what Wycombe, Rotherham and Barnsley spent to get to the championship and in the later two stay there. Bit of an excuse there but we get used to them.
To be fair I don’t blame Rupp for not chucking loads of his hard earned cash at it, he’s not even a football fan as far as I’m aware let alone a Bradford City fan. He was convinced into buying the club by Rahic and didn’t have a clue what he was getting in for, I imagine Rahic showed him what the TV deals are worth in the PL and he was sold. Very naive, but I’m sure no malice intended.
But his lack of interest is exactly why I want him gone, some seem to think certain fans want us to chuck far more money than anyone in which ever division we’re in at promotion. Not at all as the above clubs and others in this thread have shown it’s far from impossible to achieve higher than your club size and budget if you have competence, drive and ambition on and off the pitch. Parkinson brought all them traits to the club when it was lacking and recruited accordingly, we haven’t seen it since regardless of what excuses are put out.
Also before anyone asks no I don’t know how to get him out, obviously it’d take an investor which until they come if at all I think we’ll have very limited success.Stop hovering to collapse... The thing is though, Accrington have done well on relatively small crowds and budgets, without going through all the clubs that publish full accounts I suspect there are few who make a profit in lower league football, but there are clubs making progress on smaller budgets than City. Which reminds me Sparks promised to publish full accounts, what happened there?
It’s very very old ground, but City have had good income in recent years with nothing, absolutely nothing to show for it. Manager after manager, Josh Wright after Hope Akpan after BRE after Kurtis Guthrie all signing on good money for nothing. Appointing Stuart? Was that really driven by on the field results? Really? Last summer’s recruitment, was that really motivated by doing well on the field or a gamble on the season being annulled? Who knows, there are probably only two or three people who know the answer to that.
In my opinion the club has been mismanaged in recent years, I would be pretty sure few league clubs apart from Bury, Macclesfield and Scunthorpe have dropped as many places as Bradford City in the last five seasons.
I’m sure some people suggest pouring untold millions in to the club, I’m suggesting spending the money they have more wisely.
My worry is if this apathy and the dreadful on the field performance continues, season tickets fall year on year and with a largely absent owner the club falls in to the conference from where I don’t think it will return. The demographics of Bradford are changing with a local population less interested in football than previous generations.
The business needs strong focussed leadership with a genuine vision of where they want the club to be, preferably with interested owners. It doesn’t need millions pumping in. We need to stop thinking about Rahic and Richmond and plan to do things differently to the last two decadesInspector, WilsdenBantam, trevor and 4 others like this. -

nothing for the City is a ridiculous comment, for a start Morrisons has brought jobs to many thousands in Bradford and around the country, you probably weren't around when Ken and Stafford helped save the club from being wound up with the help of fans making donations, yes he could have possibly
done more with his brass with regards Bradford City but it's an easy option to critise how people should spend their money because they have an interest in the club.
Just out of interest you tell us you're a successful business man, so which are your advertising boards at Valley Parade or can you tell us about your sponsorship with regards our club ?.Welshbantam, Inspector, Keefly Bantam and 4 others like this. -
Re T&S, he really only needs to consider one question. Is he confident in their ability to deliver a top 3 finish next season. If so, he should back them. If not, he has to make a change.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...meelin, WilsdenBantam, thebantamhaslanded and 4 others like this. -

They were pretty obviously going to keep the team up, which was their remit, and giving them until the end of the season was the correct response - it took away the potential instability of them being on a game-by-game basis, it let the squad focus on the job at hand rather than worrying if someone else was going to take over, and it took the pressure OFF of T&S because nobody was worrying about the following season and whether they were the right appointments or not - which we all now are.
Sparks really messed this one up, I'm afraid, and has given the club, the coaches, the fans, and everybody involved at City a totally unnecessary headache.
Had we continued on our fantastic run of form, fine, give them a two year deal - but if they didn't, not a problem, they would remain as part of the fabric of the club BUT we would have the option of turning to a more experienced manager for the benefit of the club should we need to.
Now it's a horrible mess whereby T&S will either feel pressured into standing down unnecessarily, Sparks feels the pressure to consider sacking them (which is frigging ludicrous, there's no way they should leave the club), or we just stick with them knowing that we've just drawn 5 blanks in the last 7 games, which is never good enough for any team at any level.
I'm sorry, Sparks has got this one badly wrong.Ponty City, WilsdenBantam, Manningham bantam and 4 others like this. -
Shame for both that they never got to experience a VP crowd, but if they get to stay at the club then hopefully there'll be a chance for fans to thank them for their efforts. They deserve that. The certainly don't deserve any animosity and this is a much better outcome than them having to experience a hostile crowd and a more acrimonious exit - which I think is likely to have happened if they'd stayed at the helm.

Its the right decision, credit to Ryan because he could've taken the easy option and kept them on.
A big thanks to T&S for preserving our league status and I wish them all the best. Hopefully they take up the roles offered to them.
