Personally its a big influence for me and my decision to buy a season ticket. With the games left and nothing to play for I was hoping to see something different on the pitch last night and not the same crap served up for the past 7 or so games. How wrong was I same old shit 1 up front, nevegative tactics, useless substitutions, playing for a point the list goes on. If thats what we can expect then ill put off buying a season ticket for the first time in over 20 years. Its meant to be entertaining and frankly its utter trash lately.

 

Yes I agree. People defending them were so quick to bring the table since they came in up constantly until the last couple of weeks. Well bring up a table of the last 15 games, a third a season that gives you a good indication of the direction we are heading and it isn’t pretty. Add to that this is the worst football I’ve seen in years it’s now below the dross Bowyer would serve up.

My mate and I have decided if these two are still in charge to give it a miss next season, if they turn it around and play in a more entertaining fashion and not try scrape draws at home against average 4th division sides then we’ll both pay the £20/25 per game. The cost of a season ticket doesn’t bother me I’ll happily pay more next season if the entertainment value is there, but if Covid has taught me anything it’s life’s to short to do something just out of habit you aren’t enjoying.

 

Worryingly for me there’s a distinct lack of variation and innovation at set pieces, added to a very poor conversion rate. For two young coaches I’d have expected something different, something new, but they haven’t. Even when going away from 4-2-3-1, in a supposedly more attacking formation, we never managed to push any side back for more than 20 minutes at the most before dropping deep, giving up possession and setting up defensively. This highlights that beyond the basics they don’t really have a clue about attacking. For all their talk about wanting to play attacking football, I’ve seen very little evidence to show they can. If we could see the bones of something and say, “oh yeah, if we have better players that would work”, but we haven’t.

I just feel they’re not ready at the moment. They definitely have something to offer in a support role, but not as the main men. Bring someone in they can learn from and have them back when they’ve served their apprenticeship.

 

Its an even bigger pity that some of our fans continue to be unable to break out of a mindset of mediocrity.

 

Bradford as a city is just talked about in a negative light. The T & A are a disgrace. Look, many people from Bradford or live in Bradford have money. Certain area's now in Bradford you will be lucky to get a house for 100k plus. My thoughts on Bradford is Bradford Council get paid money for homing refugees etc and don't want to improve the city. They want it to be known as this run down place but its not true. Bradford has some lovely areas. Leeds has many area that are worse than Bradford by the PR in Leeds is vastly different.

Bradford City doesn't help the City by leading the way of improvement. Luton is a dump but look where Luton are in the footballing world. So Bradford City need to stop using the City's economics as an excuse because its a poor one. Rhodes master idea of cheap season tickets highlights that for now. Like don't go above you station. Some fans are fooled by it but a lot are waking up now and understanding football isn't just about what happens on the pitch it's off it also.

Rhodes and Lawn sold to Rupp because in Rhodes words he can do more with the club than he could. Well Rupp needs to take us to the next level. If he can't do it on his own he needs to get investment.

As for Sparks, hes a novice in the role and needs to prove he isn't Mr Soundbite. People are getting bored already! We need this club now to be taken seriously and actions required. On and off the the pitch.

This season has been an utter disgrace! Disgrace and all connected should be ashamed. Fans can only do so much. We back to club during different times for all and the club produces rubbish. We can't go into next season with T & S and we need a statement of intent that the club will be doing everything possible to go up.

What's funny is that when Sparks and the Vale Chairwoman both said they wanted last season to end even though close to the play offs you never really got the impression both we confident that the next season they would be in the mix. While at Peterborough and Salford you could see a determination. So Ryan needs to stop sound biting and highlight hes a winner! Rupp needs to stop hiding and start showing he wants to take us forward or in my mind both can go!

 

I won't profess to have vetted the finances of each, but are the likes of Morecambe, Newport, Cambridge, Cheltenham, Exeter operating on much higher budgets than us?

Who's pumping millions into Lincoln? Are Accrington and Fleetwood being bankrolled?

Didn't we get relegated from League 1 with the third highest playing budget in the league? Big money would be nice, but what would be even nicer is simply having a well run club with an owner actively interested in making us a success.

So we have finished the season with the worst form in League two over the last seven matches. If T&S had been in charge all season they would absolutely have been sacked at 5pm today. If they stay the only possible reason is to prevent egg on Spark's face and we should be bigger than that.

I doubt they will be on anywhere near the money that even the second lowest paid manager in the league is on, and we can save the majority of that by giving them their old jobs back.

I have absolutely zero confidence that they are the right people to turn around the form we have ended with, and given the fact that seven of the nine players they signed played only minor bit parts, and the majority of the good run was using players already at the club, then they simply have to go.

Pay them a nice bonus, let them have the dignity of taking up their previous roles (if they want to), put it on public record that they turned around a team heading down with Grimsby, but make the bold move now and lets go again next season.

 

I don't always understand or agree with the lineups, tactics or decisions made by T&S, but to compare them unfavourably with Bowyer is bizarre. We were going nowhere under Bowyer. Our goals had completely dried up, we were losing games and drawing against terrible sides that season like Orient and Barrow who were there to be beaten. Our trajectory was downwards, team morale was poor and we were destined for mid table, where we finished anyway after McCall replaced Bowyer.

Compare that with T&S, who have dragged us from relegation candidates to 3 points off the playoffs with auto promotion form since they took over.
We may not make the playoffs - I think we'll fall slightly short - but if we don't it will be because of McCall's terrible start, not because of T&S.

Grimsby fans are right, the damage was done before Hurst rocked up in the same way that the odds have always been against us making the play offs because of what happened before T&S took over. People slagging them off would do well to remember that.

 

My view is the same as it was 2 months ago - decide in the summer. But it needs a proper, cold hard decision. Not an emotional one based on 'they saved us from relegation'. Its a very simple question - are they capable of getting this club into the top 3 next season.

My view right now, is 'no'.

 

Totally agree @Fordy117! I've been watching City for decades but can't stomach the current tactics and lack of ambition. I honestly don't know where the club goes from here and I'm not too sure that those associated with it do either. We don't have the nucleus of a team that will advance this club next year. That means more wholesale changes in the summer, with more miss than hit in recruitment. Then there's the team management situation......

 

Bolton like various other clubs realised they could attract premium players signed before the salary cap and they’d count towards the average. Where as we dicked about. Clear lack of ambition, poor communication, the shambles of Vaughn, the final piece in the jigsaw. Nonsense

 

I honestly can't wait for this season to end. What a colossal waste of everyone's time its been.

 

Come on Fordy you can’t have it both ways. You criticise Rhodes and rightly so for not communicating and now you have it in for Sparks for talking to the media. He has done what you wanted by sacking T&S yet still you moan. Same with Mason you despised him, I think you have a problem with anyone in authority at City.

 

If they hire Cooper I might even give up my favourite seat of 26 years. That manager kills the game of football.

 

What is it with us lot and wanting to go back? Parkinsons era has gone and he'll be remember fondly for it. Lets move on FFS and let another manager have a go at making himself a favourite with the city fans.
