11th for blocks-no current City players above him (AOC is)
35th for clearances (a few ex City players including Stubbs above him-no current)
61st for interceptions (1 above Baldwin, a few ex players above)
99th for successful tackles (quite a few City players above him)
91st overall rating (Smallwood, Sarc, Shepard, Platt and Stubbs above him).
So statistically better than what we have in the building as a centre half overall, but not better than who we’ve let go in recent history

Bit worried now that rivals are signing players like Horsfall and we have signed Tilt. I am trying to fight the urge to be negative but we have some ground to make up in terms of squad building. I'm maybe naively hoping that this is just us being clever with budget and that signing a lesser quality back up (hopefully) means we can spend more on the first team regular.

 

My source said we couldn’t afford Pearson looks like he’s the backup. Cheap signing for me and surely we can do better than this?

 

Can see why we signed him as multiple times last year we struggled against teams with big centre forwards, eg Street for Donny and Harry Smith for Swindon.

County offered an extension and Blackpool offered a four year deal on substantial terms. And I don't expect County's offer was peanuts. When a club offers those terms he ain't turning that down.

Yeah seems that way, and without knowing those figures I cant blame him. I'm just slightly worried about the money and squads other league one teams have. It was reported he'd turned down championship interest to sign for Blackpool. That is what we/our recruitment team are up against.

 

Some big payers and big earners in this division. The top we simply can't compete with of they come looking at the same players we are interested in. I guess we've got to try and make the budget stretch as far as possible.

 

Get Rachel Reeves to oversee our budget. That will be relegation more nailed on that it is currently looking. Certainly won't be a tilt at promotion that's for sure!
