Fair, and he could have a role to play in that sense. But with Humphry seen as a forward, Swan in the mix, Powell joining and Cook nearly back, he may struggle. For his own good, a loan till Xmas so he can play regularly could be ideal for him and us.

This is not a criticism of Humphry's but he has to start putting more of his chances away, he's had and made several so far this season that IMO a striker should be scoring, then again Humphry's doesn't rate himself as a striker that's Alexander doing.
I doubt it will happen but I'd like to see him play his more natural role with Swan up top.

 

GalA was keen on getting Hunt. My guess is a RB RWB and Halliday moving on.

 

I know , but the potential of pay on the day is pretty nice to have in the locker. It’s absolutely fantastic there are so many youngsters ……Once bitten and all that , especially if we continue our on field progress. What they are doing pre match for children has to be applauded too. It’s hard to keep kids occupied for longer than 10 mins normally

I’m not disrespecting Kav here by saying , what I’ve seen so far Swan offers the same press but faster and a better finisher as he is League One ready. Kav isn’t.

I think it would need to be a very decent offer for GA to allow Halliday, Kavanagh or Lapslie to move. All have something to offer and no doubt will play games at some point, providing they stay fit and focussed.

 

I hope we keep all 3 but its more about the players and their opportunities. Halliday will get his eventually but the other 2 seem well down the pecking order.

 

Lapslie played against Blackburn and although he hasn't played in the league yet, he's been part of every match day squad so far. He currently seems closer to getting an opportunity than either of the other two.

 

While true weve just added Powell and I possibly wager if Sarc doesnt make it this Saturday then Swan could take his shirt. Eventually Cook will also get a place on the bench so that limits his chances of matchday 18.

 

Oh 100%. If he does get a chance to get on the pitch in the next few games and doesn't impress, that will see him drop right down the pecking order for sure because as well as the players you've already mentioned, there's also J. Wright who will be straight into the starting 11 when he returns, then Richards and Byrne who will both be fighting for a place in the 18 when they come back from injury.

 

True. But we have the second oldest squad in the four divisions and we play a high pressing game. There are bound to be injuries and there will undoubtedly be squad rotations to try to prevent burnout so I think he still has a role and will get some game time. Like Kav, he’s very good at the press and GA likes that.

 

CF is his natural role! He said he didn't suit playing as a 'Andy Carrol-type target man'. His natural role is not left wing, he had 5 good games there at the end of last season and Barnsley fans therefore felt he would be better there. He is a centre forward and always has been:
