I heard that today and the same bloke reckons if PNE get relegated Alexander is wanted to replace Heck and God

 

And I thought the pitch was as good as it's been for a few seasons.

Nathan Lowe and Paul Mullin should be targets if we get promotion!

 

I'm not saying league one is above Paul Mullin but he's only ever scored 6 goals at that level and in 46 appearances.

League two and the national league he's been phenomenal but league one, not so much.

 

Exactly why he is a realistic target for us

 

It will be interesting to see what happens with Mullin as he's got 2 years left on his contract and I'd imagine he will have been on a very good wage when he joined Wrexham added to that he's likely to have 3 promotion wage increases. He won't want to give up 2 years of a good contract and take a wage cut unless Wrexham pay him off a bit so it will make any more harder.
Like you say as will his league 1 record isn't great to say the least with only 6 goals and 1 assist in 46 games, spending big money on wages for him would be risk.

Would we realistically look to improve the squad with a striker who has scored 6 goals in 46 games?

Mind you, that's prolific compared to some we have signed

 

I'm saying a Gillingham or a club like that have a recent history of just throwing money at players will be a move for him. Maybe if the Yank interest in Cheltenham ever actually moves forward that might be one? Seems to be spinning wheels.

Fleetwood too might be a shout? They spent a shed load this past season, i reckon Wrexham would do some sort of loan wages cover because they know nobody will pay even a quarter of his wages. He's a L2 finisher.

 

Can he play Centre Half?

 

Pete Wild was talking in his pre-match interview about their transfer and a change of direction that they will be looking at more younger players with potential to develop and sell on as they can't afford to keep spending like they are so I'd be surprised if he ended up at Fleetwood.

 

Weirdly, Oldham fans seem to think they have a shot. Wouldn't be surprised to be honest.

Current team I can't see making the step up to league 1.

 

I'd personally like some experienced League One players to help us ensure we can safely aim for mid table (if we do get promoted), mixed with a few quality loanees. We don't need much of a change, in my opinion. Probably a couple of centre backs, left back, defensive midfielder and a couple of strikers

 

If they don't go up I wouldn't rule anything out in with the money spent in the National league
