Nobody is creaming. But he has done enough to earn a starting place.

 

His 4th club in 12 months. Hasnt completed 90 minutes in 3 years and has had one decent spell at FGR in the past decade.

Im not sure what his appeal is.

 

Has he actually signed yet? I can't see anything on the old t'internet.

 

I was just having a look down the list of free agents and his name popped up. I probably should have looked more into it.

That said, if he can complete 90 minutes and win the odd header he still might be an improvement on Saturdays striking options.

 

If Hughes will play them then fine but given he sees them in training every day and still opted for Derbyshire doesn't give me great hope so yes, I'd absolutely like us to bring someone else in if the right free agent is out there.

 

Ofoka is a recent signing, hopefully this week he is now up to speed and ready to start on Saturday.

Thats your forward options for Saturday. We can only pick 3 to start and a couple on the bench.

 

I fully agree the tactics are poor and I think everyone is aware with 5 at the back we seem to completely isolate the centre forward but even if we could get players alongside Derbyshire he isn't the short term answer in that lone striker.

 

We're discussing centre forward options, not the wide players and you're pinning all your hopes on a young wide player who's made such an impact that you can't even remember his name?

Joking aside though, I hope we do see either Smith, Afoka or Youmbi given a go because clearly Derbyshire doesn't have the legs anymore to battle, completely isolated against league two defenders.

 

Well that is either Afoka*, Smith, Derbyshire or Youmbi for a couple more games.

The young wide player whose name escapes me can offer more than Vassel who hasnt kicked a ball in 4 years.

 

Ah well, at least we've got fully fit and in form strikers ..... oh wait.

 

Macdonald really impressed me for Crewe in our 3-2 defeat at the end of last season.

In fairness though, how does changing sides effect his ability to head a ball?

I agree he's seemingly has a rough deal but he still needed to do much better in the few appearances he did make.

 

He was gash, Woking about his level

 

I speak to the Chairman of Tunbridge Angels from time to time and last season he told me Woking were paying big bucks. Don’t know if it’s still the same but it had made a few eyes water according to him.

 

Does it surprise you @vin weasel, yes I get the "Hughes sees him in training every day" I also get we shouldn't offer players 3 year deals on one very good performance against Bradford City, I'm sure they watched him in more games, but you do have to wonder with regards some of the deals we've handed out.
