There will be players in League two on £4k a week and more, I’d imagine Cook isn’t too far behind that and Evans won’t have been cheap. In any case, signed on loan or permanent, Ipswich could and probably would pay a portion of his salary just to get rid of him.

 

Yeah i'd say Cook is on the 3ish mark, he was on £3K at Mansfield. Ian Henderson is the one that comes to mind on £5K a week at Salford but there will be others on huge money for this level.

He is a headache for Ipswich but from how he talks, I'm not sure Adams would entertain that potential headache unless it was a really good deal. In the last 18 months, he's tore his abductor muscle which had him out for 3 months. Tore his hamstring, was out for 6 weeks, played 3 times off the bench then tore the same hamstring which kept him out another 8 weeks, but even with the injuries his goal per minutes is brilliant. There's a thread on him from a few weeks back on the Ipswich forum, their fans comparing him to Paul Taylor, in that there's an obvious game changing talent there but his off the field stuff clearly hampers him.

 

Big chunk of that on taxis now apparently?

 

Jackson would be a good signing but I don’t think we are in the market for another forward it’s midfield they are looking at

 

I’m not even sure we are in for another striker, Adams said the other day Turnbull was looking at a midfielder and had been to a few games to watch him. The thing his didn’t mention if it was an attacking or defensive midfielder. I hope it’s an attacking one personally we need someone to challenge Cooke there when we play 4-2-3-1, which looks like we will be doing for a bit if Angols out for at least a few weeks.

Im pretty sure he would fail the Sparks / Adams interview based on character/ injuries/ fit
Remember they both have said any incomers need to show they will be a good fit for BCAFC ( and MrAdams ethos presumably)

 

After Cooke’s performance the other night, he was magnificent, if he’s injured we have a potential problem?

 

We haven’t seen a lot of Lavery or Eisa, but for all Parker wants to tweet “bUt WhOs GoINg tO sCoRe ThE gOaLs”, lose Cook to injury and that squad still looks light on goals. Add a good quality striker alongside Cook, and both stay fit, then if we play like Tuesday night then we’ll win the league with games to spare.

 

Has there been any update on Angol's injury?

 

Not seen anything. Adams probably wouldn’t say anyway to keep Mansfield guessing. Neither would I tbh.

 

The number 10 shirt is still vacant

and like @Tony Wilkinson said, if Angol is out for a few weeks, we would suffer for it so we need someone to fill the gap.

that being said i do agree we need cover in midfield too.

 

I'd say we still need another striker. If Angol is out, then that's only really Cook who is the tried and tested goal scorer. If he got injured (and the way he puts himself about, it could happen), then we're short. For me, another striker and midfielder and we're covered for back up.

Adams is a strict teetotaller. I seriously doubt he would sign anyone who has a history of drink driving and knows his next offence (which will happen) is likely to mean prison.
