How many fans/inmates believe City should have had a bigger player budget this season on the back of the S/T rise?

If you work on the premise that the adult/young adult/oap take -up would have been similar, very similar to the last few years then City got approx 14,000 at 249 or slightly lower for young adult/oap against approx 15,500 at 200
I know the increase was sold to us as a cost of living increase but we are buying the S/T to fund the team are we not??
We took in more monies this year with the increase and less fans.

    *Keep getting e-mails saying new funding sponsors helping the club;
Must be adding hundreds of thousands to the coffers
Correction, must be adding tens of thousands to the coffers
Correction, must be adding thousands to the coffers
Correction, must be worth a Tiffin meal deal or two

**I do not expect or want the new sponsor money to go to the playing budget but City are taking in some funding for summat???

We need to put pressure on Gibb by looking for alternatives to Valley Parade. That will increase the pressure on him.

You don't even know if a bid has been made.
Also Gibb has made his money back, it's City who are screwed as they have nowhere else to go so they are bluffing with off suit 2-7.

Gibbs sat back smoking a cigar because
    A) There isn't a viable option
    B) It's about sustainability so the current owner ain't looking anywhere else

He's pissing himself knowing he's holding all the cards

City taking over 1400 to Morecambe tomorrow. This club deserves so much better from Rupp.

When did the club sack all the PR department and Director of communications?

They must have as this is the only explanation to why the club thought that this letter of meaningless guff was a good idea.

I note and welcome the commitment, ‘Looking ahead, planning is well underway for the January transfer window. I will again invest and make more funds available’.

What actual evidence is there of an initial ‘investment’?

What funds have been made available since the Spring of 2024?

    Where have they been invested?

What figure is the ‘more’ funds?

If…..and it’s a big ‘If’ £250,000 had been invested (not a huge sum) we could have signed a potential second 15-20 goal a season striker. As we would have redeployed money on a lesser player(s), then other elements of the squad could have been enhanced.

What….and where has the earlier investment of funds been spent.

How much additional funds will be available.

At present all I can see are ‘intentions’. Now they may well be good, but there is no tangible evidence as to what has and will be made available.

So the ‘talk is good’, the ‘walk is totally obscured’. Evidence rather than rhetoric is now essential.

In traditional Yorkshire speak ‘Put Up or Shut Up’! Less promises and more unequivocal evidence of funds being invested!!

Exactly this... for all we know, he may have invested and heavily in the summer.. who knows? The problem lays with those in charge of the kitty. We splurged it on dross, crocks and kids, where we as fans can all clearly see it hasn't been used to secure the real first team standout quality needed to get out if this league! The blame has to lay with the CEO and recruitment team.

I don't think Rupp is the right fit for this club. I'd be overjoyed if he sold up to someone with a clue. Yet as a savvy business man, he'd go a long way and be much more popular, if he assessed and acted upon the performance of those in charge at the club, recognised that were treading water with those in place now, and made the necessary changes! He would show that he's genuinely not happy where we are at, and wants to improve things. Unless he does that, then he will remain the target...

    WOW !!!
We are in no position whatsoever to put pressure on Mr Gibb
I would say he's under more pressure to keep it funding the pension fund rather than sell
He knows full well we don't have and never will have (under the present ownership) the finances/ambition to pursue an alternative site or purchase VP
Thanks to Captain Admin we are well and truly stuck with this agreement
Had there ever been any serious intention of buying VP negotiations would have started years ago not now with the current lease due to be renegotiated and no time to look at alternatives
Mr Gibb is on a winner please tell us why he would even consider selling
All this talk of investment/purchase VP is to appease the more gullible in our fan base sadly some even give it credence

Agree with the thrust of your argument.

Where could Gibb get a relatively risk free equivalent return on the sum, that selling VP could raise?

One logical way forward, is for the Pension Fund to become shareholders in Bradford City FC. However that could tie the club in some of its decisions, given the fiduciary obligations of a Pension Fund (I am certain there are others on here, who are far more versed in this matter).

It could also tie Rupp if he wanted to sell the club.

Unless the club was in real danger of folding, all the Pension Fund has to do is sit tight and watch the regular income. The costs of administering the arrangements are likely to be very modest.

Unless the Tax laws change, it is a neat way of growing your capital.

    There is no straightforward solution.

Factor in the "emotional" ties we have to VP and Mr Gibb has an even stronger hand
No there isn't a solution but it wouldn't even be an issue if the team was doing well on the pitch showing some ambition to climb up the leagues, should we become an established Championship club playing entertaining football fans wouldn't care who owns the ground
There isn't a solution to that either unless Mr Rupp either sells or wakes up and rights the wrongs we all know exist

By the time we kick off today, we could be EIGHT points off third without a game in hand on third.

That would shred Rupp's statement within about 24 hours of him making it.

That might make for the most disastrously misguided and mistimed statement in some time.

Of course Carlisle might beat Crewe, but it's a big gamble.
