    Unique Sustainability Preoccupation?

    In all seriousness, I have nothing against sustainability, but when sustainability comes at the expense of having a proper hierarchy at the club, it's a no from me.

    What do you mean?

    By hierarchy, I'm referring to someone who is interested actively running the club, employing directors who are competent at every facet of the game, not just one chief executive who is competent at nothing except striking deals with local companies.

    We have nothing installed at the club of any long term value outside of Hughes and Hodges, and even they've got too much to do as things stand.

    This is the same as asking how will we raise a team next season.

    We have a budget, I don't know what you're angling at.

    According to the club website we seem to have dozens of employees, so it shouldn't be hard.

    There's really no excuse for not having a proper hierarchy. The REASON we don't have one is because Rupp doesn't know what he's doing and Sparks has somehow convinced him he can lead the club forward, but that's no excuse.

    I didn't mention investment, I actually said I have no issue with sustainability, and I don't.

    However we need experts at the club and not disinterested people living in foreign countries and CEO with no experience whose best move was to check his spam folder.

    We don't need investment for that, we can do without any number of players this season in order to pay for the expertise we need OFF the pitch, and dare I say if we get that right we'll be more economic with our squad as a result.

    Let's flip it.

    Tell us all why you accept that sustainability has to mean regression or at the very, very best, stagnation?

    And if it doesn't, then why is Jon and everyone else wrong to question Rupp as clearly progression is very possible with a sustainable model providing there is sufficient interest and ability from those involved in running it.

    For comparison, if it helps, Accrington run a sustainable model.

    Pinning our hopes on sustainability, without any credible plan to grow the club, in a highly competitive industry, spells doom to me. There's nothing sustainable about what we're doing, we're clearly in decline. Sustainability isn't just about balancing the books at the end of a season.

    Rupp hasn't done a single thing in his tenure to suggest he's actively interested in growing this football club. Not one.

    I dont accept anything other than forward investment. The question is where is it coming from as clearly Rupp isnt dipping deep enough. We shall see what we sign in the summer as an indication of how much, if any, of his own money has been put in.

    Whist I agree with your valid point @NorthernMonkey@NorthernMonkey. You have though given the only club in the Football league pyramid whom run that model over a period of time. They're really only a single entity. (As far as I know & happy to be proven otherwise)
