Bit of a random one this, but I’m curious about the extent to which fans might be willing to fund our way out of the hole we find ourselves in.

The club has clearly recognised the root of our issues - Rahic. No surprise there!

But we find ourselves in a massive predicament and it’s going to take money to dig our way out. Whether that be for this season or next.

If Rupp came out with a fund raising incentive for a January ‘rescue job’, would fans chip in? If for example he committed that a ‘collection’ from fans would be matched by himself - say each ST holder were asked to chip in 50 quid, we’d raise in the region of 500k - if he agreed to match it, that’s a million quid, which would go a long way in signing the 4 or 5 quality players we desperately need.

Hypothetical of course - but how would fans feel? Would you agree, as we have exceptional circumstances and there an apparent drive now to right the ship and it could be a way to work together, build bridges and strengthen the side. Or would you say ‘no, I’ve done my bit and the owner now needs to dig however deep he needs to dig...’

Nope, it's not our job, with a reputed £100m behind him he shouldn't need my £50...

As long as ER is banished I'd willingly give £50.

As @JudgeMental@JudgeMental has mentioned - you’d get more interest if you set it up as ‘Edin Rahic fans contribution for termination of employment fund’

There is no way 14,000 ST holder would donate £50. You might get 100 at the very most, and that would be next to useless.

I agree with that. It was just an arbitrary number.

Those who placed the club in peril should pay to get the club out of it,

Yes I have to say I fully support that comment, just awaiting the first post from someone saying "those not prepared to contribute are not real fans".

On the other hand he won't let go of his shares cheaply his dream has failed and all he has left is his shares so will want to maximize any return on them
I suspect he will be at the very least a shareholder until SR decides to sell and the new buyers want 100% of the club
EIther way like it or not he will have some influence in our club for the foreseeable

I'll chip in £50 and if/when we reach the Championship I'll be expecting £150 back as my percentage of the profits

Stefan Rupp is in charge of financing the club, that's his right and privilege having bought the club in the first place :)

Not a chance. It’s a private business not a charity, Stefan invested to make money, I’m fecked if I’m helping them do that unless it’s a season book, money in the shop and most importantly only when Edin has gone.

Brilliant idea - not, Speaking as one of the 808 mugs who bought WHU bonds in 1991 don't confuse loyalty to the club with financial decisions

Well you know, I was thinking about this the other day. If the initiative during the £1 match was - "put the other £19 in the bucket", how much would we have raised?

I was also thinking of other schemes. A mate of mine runs a comedy club. It's free entry, but you pay to leave. You give what you think the performance was worth. Ha - I'm not sure we'd get much finance that way this season!
He also does a spinning wheel. You spin the wheel to get in - could be X you pay, could be XX , could be totally free.
It's been a total joke in 2018, why not carry the fun into 2019? :)
