Might have made a mistake with my Classic select your target. Initially just went for the lowest target on both but the 100 essence on offer for the highest target got the better of me with my strongest of the lineups. Hopefully I don't regret it.

Watch my teams switch. The weakest will hit the highest score but I'll only get the lowest reward and my strongest will only reach the lower target and win nothing

 

So I made the lower target with my weaker lineup. My stronger lineup is 99 points away from hitting the upper one that I need to hit, annoyingly Fulhams 3rd goal being disallowed has screwed me a little as now I basically need Rasmus to score about 91 tomorrow to make it but with the extra points I would have got from the 3rd I would have been 71 short so would have only needed a 66 which if he can score or get an assist there is a good chance he gets that.



Oh and MLS update. Last night LAFC beat Vancouver so they are through to the next round to play Seattle. So if you have any LAFC cards you have atleast 1 extra game and if you are looking at a Vancouver player then their prices will have dipped.

And Cincinnati and New York City just went to Pens after neither team could score. Cincinnati missed their 4th, NYC missed their 5th to go into sudden death. Both scored their 6th. NYC keeper saved the 7th, Cinnci's Keep saved NYC's 7th. Both teams skied their 8th. NYC's keeper saved the 8th and then NYC scored theirs. So we have an all New York next round, although Red Bulls actually play in New Jersey.

Interestingly in the other game in this half we could see Orlando play their fellow Florida outfit in Inter Miami. Orlando are playing Charlotte right now and Miami play Atlanta at 1am (well MLS matches NEVER kick off on time, if its supposed to kick off on the hour it could be anywhere from ten past to half past

 

Charlotte looked like they were about to pull off a shock having gone up 1-0. Deep into Injury time Orlando got a penalty, Torres penalty however was saved but he put in the rebound to take it to pens. Orlando's keeper Gallese then saved the first 3 Charlotte pens to take Orlando through 4-1 on pens.

And in the Miami/Atlanta match has had a mental first half. On the 65th minute Atlanta hit the post. On 17 mins Guzan saved from Messi but Rojas scored the rebound. On 19 mins Thiare got Atlanta level with a stunning strike. On the 21st Minute Thiare got his second to put Atlanta in the lead. On the 24th minute Miami equalised but then it was ruled out (After Miami had set off a load of fireworks). Then a few minutes later Suarez goes through and goes down in the box, looked like it was maybe a penalty but Guzan squared up the Suarez and it became clear he had dived. Guzan then made a number of great saves to keep Atlanta in the lead. Then looked near the end of the half like Thiare had his 3rd but he was ruled offside.

And 5 mins into the 2nd half we just had Atlanta with a 2 on 1 break with an amazing last ditch tackle stopping it and then Guzan has just pulled off an absolute worldie, I'm not even sure Guzan at his peak playing for Villa makes that save. The Highlight should be on Youtube in the morning so I'll have to attach them here as the save really was amazing

 

Messi it 2-2. How Suarez is still on the pitch though I don't know, there was the clear dive and now after the goal Guzan has grabbed the ball and Suarez has then body checked him and then pushed him into the back of the goal so he got caught in the net

 

Atlanta have now gone 3-2 up. Here you have Miami the highest seed losing to Atlanta who didn't even make the playoff places directly, they had to play a qualification round, so are the worst team in the playoffs

 

Atlanta won. They cleared one off the line, Guzan made a couple more good saves.

They finished the league 34 points behind Miami. And on that side of the draw the top 3 seeds are all out. On the other side of the draw the two LA Clubs must be licking their lips

 

Miami/Atlanta highlights

 

It's a bit hit and miss with their refs, you get situations where they are better but then others where their decisions are consistently off. We do need to get their announcing why they make the VAR decisions they do though as atleast it makes things clearer even if you don't agree

At the start of the season Guzan looked like this maybe was his last season but in the second half of the year and especially in these 3 matches against Miami he has been amazing. He is out of contract at the end of the year but Atlanta do have an option for an extra year so I would be surprised if they don't pick that up.

BTW are you intentionally trying to get a Westerlo stack or is it just coincidence? If it's intentionally when it comes to keeper I would look to pick up both Bolat and Van Langendonck. Bolat is generally the starter but they do rotate him out for a combination of giving Van Langendonck some mintutes and due to injury. Sometimes the rotation is totally random which has caught me out because I own a Bolat card but when they do often announce it so being able to pivot on this weeks is useful.

Also to add to your options keep an eye out for Doğucan Haspolat showing up on auctions.


He is by far their best player, you have two midfielders already but if you can get him and then choose between whichever of the others is the best bet that week it will give you a solid base.

And if you want a second striker option then Sayyadmanesh is a good option although Frigan is in great form right now as well



Defender wise there are a few options. I've ended up being close to a stack without meaning to, just need a defender and I'm on the lookout for any of these 3 so they are probably the ones you should also be watching out for. All under 23 as well. Vuskovic carries a premium being only 17 so has way more u23 eligible years (plus he is a more nailed on starter)

As next GW is international I'm not doing a new GW thread but here is @Chippy data for next week. @derrickh100 internationals either haven't been called up this time, their national team doesn't have a competitive match this international window or their competitive match doesn't happen until GW27 so he has no players for this GW

 

I can give you more info after 6pm when the lineups are announced

 

Managed to pick up the Ryan Gauld on auction just now. Him and Gil are going to form one killer base for my Challenger lineups next MLS season
