So we have both European football this midweek and some other leagues having midweek matches so you both have teams you can enter.

On the Specials front we have the 2nd Mbappe special, A European Champions and All Star

Mbappe - Same as the weekend. Min of 4 Commons, Max of 1 Limited. Hit 400 points for a raffle ticket and 10% get a reward box
European Champion Special - Only players playing in the Champions league can be played. 4 Must be in-season
All Star - Any Player from any season

** A Note on Sorare's Prediction Starting data

As you most likely saw Sorare have added starting predictions on the selection page. This data comes from SorareData and you need to understand how SorareData come up with their data.

On the SorareData site ANY USER can predict if a player will start, be on the bench or not in the squad for a match. This data is collected and the figures are derived from that, they do weight the predictions of people who have historical accuracy more but they also encourage people even if they don't have any real knowledge for a team or league to predict as you can win cards and that can skew predictions. A good example is @chippys card of Arne Engels. SorareData give him a ZERO chance of him starting, his chance of starting was deemed low, the Celtic experts I pull data from thought the chances of him starting were low, 20% to be precise but there is a big difference between 0% and 20%. He did start and as Chippy found put up a really good score. Also most people on SD data never update their predictions, they submit them days before the deadline but their predictions can still skew things when it becomes clear days later than a player is out

Even experts can get it wrong as there are last minute injuries and only the managers really know if they plan to throw in a curveball but SD's ones can be vastly incorrect, especially on some less popular teams.

On SD's own site you do get an induction if the figure is largely favouring proven predictions but you don't on Sorares site

So certainly don't rely on them, use them in conjunction with the data I provide and your own research to try and make the best choices you can

I haven't done my own evaluation of potential good choices for the Mbappe special this week yet but when I do I'll post some decent options for each position. Hopefully they don't pull a Allison/Liverpool and play awfully

 

There is something weird with rivals. The top player in the top squad in our division hasn't lost a single matchup. He is div 3 yet rarely gets drawn against someone who scores over 250.

Most of the matches I've won the other person has scored over 300 and I've lost matches when I've scored 350+. I'm in div 5 too so it should be easier than div 3

 

Mbappe special

I believe the only matches covered by the Mbappe special are Champions League matches and the new Champions League format does actually mean there aren’t as many ‘easy’ matches as you would usually see so selecting players who will perform is

Keepers

Neuer (Bayern Munich)
Schemichel (Celtic)

Schmechel jumps out to me as the best option followed by Neuer as the leats likely to concede. The reason Kasper jumps out to me is simply Bayern are just so much better that I wouldn’t expect him to pick up many points other than the cleansheet and if they get a lucky shot away and he concedes he won’t have any other points to drag his score up. Celtic will concede some more shots, you wouldn’t expect them to go in but he will pick up some points for saves

Bayerns defenders won’t concede but you wouldn’t expect them to rack up alot of score. Johnstone is usually a solid choice (although Soraredata seems to think he won’t start but I don) but Grimaldo can be a beats with his AA and his decisive scores

Musalia (Bayern)
Olise (Bayern)
Wirtz (Leverkusen)
McGregor (Celtic)

Bayerns match looks the most one sided and Kimmich and Musiala are the obvious choices but Olise might be a viable choice too. Wirtz or someone like McGregor at Celtic may also be options

Forward
Kane (Bayern)
Gnarbry (Bayern)
Mbappe (Real)

Kane is the only choice really. The Celtic strikers should also score well and back at Bayern Gnarbry should too and there is always Mbappe but Kane is still the obvious choice.


On the Limited choices. @derrickh100 your only option is Mings who won't play. @Chippy maybe McGregor if you want to try and get a reward box or card but if you are just going for the ticket then maybe sticking with one of the Bayern midfield or forward players (Kimmich or Musiala most likely)

Just been submitting my teams and while I was 5th in Contender Classic Div.1 I've somehow jumped up to 3rd. Either Opta must have scored some of my players up or scored others down (or both). So while it's not the cash amount you get for 1st its still $100 and a star card (and a box) so thats not bad.

And I noticed @derrickh100 you opened your early access card and pulled a special edition card. How jammy is that. And seems @Chippy opened more of his and pulled a few more specials too. Where as here none of mine were special editions. I do still have 3 left as they don't have pictures yet for the players so hopefully when they do one of them will be a special edition

 

That's a factor that the squad game has certainly added, you can be caught in that situation where personally you should not play but for your squad you need to

 

So from my rewards I got £75, A Star Tier Contender Card and 4 reward boxes

TBH I don't know anything about him but while his performances for Isreal make him look worse when you look at his Club performances they are great. And is only 20. Glad he isn't an American or Asia League card just because those leagues are in their last 3rd of the season where as Europes in the first 3rd. He is worth about £45 so if I choose not to keep him it will give me a nice pot to spend on cards that might fit my lineups better (I perhaps could do with some more quality strikers than a midfielder)

In the reward boxes I got 18 essence. I'm on 71 essence now having already used 100 to craft a card.

A fairly solid card and puts me closer to being able to submit a Champion In-Season lineup

Typically though when I have £75 to spend I don't win any market credit lol

 

Hope you both went with Kane as striker (and captained him) in the Mbappe special.

I'm already on 324 and still has Kasper and Johnston to come (used my Limited Johnston so the 31% bonus I have on him means he alone could take me over the 400. Wouldn't mind Kimmich getting another assist or a goal mind you just to make things even more secure

I made it public for 5 minutes. I kicked 3 of the ones who joined because they were brand new and had submitted 8+ lineups mostly for the weekend so they seemed a waste of space and with no chat area on sorare for squads and noway to contact them to get them on here it seemed pointless keeping them. The other 2 didn't seem as bad so saw no harm in given them a chance

 

Tell him to join ours and then get his friend and his other squad pals to jump ship to ours
