I'm 19 points away from the ETH threshold, hopefully Ospina plays as even with him being a common he only needs to score a 32 to achieve that so if he starts that should be easy.
And woke up to my D5 Asia having a really good night (a 64, 73, 38 and 66 to go with 77 from yesterday) and there is only currently a live match right now and then one that kicks off at 11 left to go so a decent chance I get a card there.
So if my final D5 challenger Europe card plays well and keeps me in the prize spots there it could be 2 cards and some ETH. It is weird as they are actually two of my lineups I had the least faith in this game week. The ones I had most faith in have had more more problems of unexpected injuries, just being rested or bad performances (although atleast I have had a sending off yet, had 5 of those last game week)
And yeah I think a lot of people will regret not getting involved sooner when it really kicks off, the growth even over the last couple of months has been immense. People will have that same regret I had not buying any Bitcoin until it was £10 a coin and only buying £20 worth when I could have both bought when it was 50p a BTC and could have spent much closer to 1000 on them

What is Sorare?
The easiest way to explain it is its Pokemon meets Fantasy Football. Like Pokemon, you are building a deck of collectable cards of varying scarcity and these cards have the function of being able to be played as part of a game. Like fantasy football, you use the cards to build a team and the players score points for a variety of actions in a match.
The cards are Non-Fungible Tokens or NFT's which you have no doubt been hearing a lot about in the news over the last 6 months.
[Back to top]Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
What Are NFT's?
NFT's are digital assets stored on the Blockchain (Just like Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin). Unlike normal digital assets by being stored on the blockchain this means that your ownership of them can be confirmed but they can be validated as being genuine (Something that's a real problem when it comes to physical collectable cards). NFT's are 'minted' in limited numbers which gives them real-world value.

Is it Free to play?
During the signup process, you will be given 10 FREE common cards which can be used to take part in the Starter Rookie game. Other leagues require cards of greater scarcity which you will need to purchase to enter.

How to Get Started with Sorare?
The first thing you want to do is use a referral link. While everyone gets 10 Common cards to start with a referral link will give you a FREE limited card upon winning your 5th Card in the auctions (Within the first 90 days of signing up)
You can use my referral link at sorare.com/r/simonwakefield. If you use my link I also earn a FREE card and just like I'm giving away my referral card now I might be able to run further card giveaways using these cards (or the card it replaces in my lineups)
The games onboarding system does a pretty good job at introducing you to the basics of the game. Completly the onboarding is also what gets you your 10 Common cards so its essential you work through it. If you actually buy a player in the auction or manager market you can even get an 11th Common card.
A quick tip. During the onboarding, you will be asked to pick 3 favourite clubs. Rather than picking favourite clubs pick 3 clubs in a currently active league (Right now that probably means Europe is the best bet). This selection impacts the common cards you will be given. Also no matter how appealing the idea of getting Messi, Neymar or Mbappe might be you might not want to pick 3 massive teams, a top team who wins a lot in smaller nations like Portugal or Holland might be a better option

Understanding Cards and Scarcity
- Season of Issue - Simply this is the season the card was issued. In this case its for the Season 2021
- Card Issue Number - This tells you what issue number the card is and how many of these cards exists. In this case its card 68 from 1000
- Name - The player's Name
- Age - This is fairly self-explanatory. It's the age of the player at the time of the issue
- Position - The position that the player plays in
- Nationality - The Player Nationality
- Shirt Number - The Players Shirt Number at the time of issue
- Club Logo - The Logo of the club the player plays for at the time of issue
- Rookie Card - Some Cards will have the Rookie Card Foil Effect. This means its a player in their first professional season
- Average Score - The player's Average Score over the last 5 games
- 23 Badge - Players with this badge are eligible to be selected in the u23 leagues
- XP Bonus - Cards gain Experience Points the more they are played, This XP moves you up to levels and each level gained adds a 0.5% bonus to the card. Cards from the current season also carry a 5% current season bonus. In this example, the card has gained no XP but has the 5% Current season bonus, so if he then scored 30 points in a match he would actually get 31.5 points
- Limited (Yellow) - 1000 of these are issued every season
- Rare (Red) - 100 of these are issued every season
- Super-Rare (Blue) - 10 of these are issued every season
- Unique (Black and Gold) - 1 of these are issued every season
- Limited Cards start at Level 0. The maximum level is 20. (Bonus between 0 and 10%)
- Rare Cards start at Level 0. The maximum level is 20. (Bonus between 0 and 10%)
- Super-Rare cards start at level 40. The maximum level is 60. (Bonus between 20% and 30%)
- Unique cards start at level 80. The maximum level is 100. (Bonus between 40% and 50%)

Understanding Leagues and Division
There are multiple leagues you can enter cards into each week. Each league has different entry requirements.
With Global leagues, you can play cards from any country. The 4 Global Leagues are
- Rookie/Starter- This is the starter league. It's the only league you can play a full squad of common cards in
- All-Star
- Under 23's - Only cards with the Under 23 badge can be played in this league
- Unique - You can only play Unique cards
- Champion Europe - European players in the top 5 European Leagues (England, France, Germany, Spain and Italy)
- Challenger Europe - Players from all other European Leagues
- Champion America - Players from North, South and Central American Leagues
- Champion Asia - Players from Asian Leagues
- Special Weekly - Each week there will be a different set of entry requirements
- Training League - You can enter as many teams in this as you have players for. You can't win anything but used cards gain XP even if they don't have matches that game week
- Division 5 - Only Yellow Limited cards can be played in this division
- Division 4 - You can play a single Common Card (most likely you want this to be a keeper) and Red Rare Cards. Common cards receive a penalty (50% - their XP Bonus). Captain has to be a Rare
- Division 3 - Max of 2 Blue Super-Rares and at least 3 Red Rares. Captain has to be a rare
- Division 2 - At least 3 Super-Rares and a max of 1 Rare and 1 Unique. Captain has to be a Super-Rare
- Division 1 - At least 3 Uniques. Rest Super-rares. Captain has to be a unique

Which Leagues should I play in?
Obviously, if you don't have the correct cards you are unable to enter a league so when building your deck of cards you should start by targeting a specific league and division. Below is a list of the leagues and divisions and the average points needed to win a prize.
*averages from soraredata.com and correct as of 9/10/21
However simply targeting the 'easiest' league isn't always the best tactic because
- Cards in some leagues are way more expensive than others. Players in European leagues are more expensive than those in Asian ones for example
- Different teams run at different times. The Koran League has just ended so buying Korean cards right now serves no purpose. Cards are however usually cheaper when a league isn't active as people are offloading cards to buy cards in an active league so it can be a good time to build a squad for next season
- At the moment All-Star Division 4 pays out Eth for getting 205 and 250 points so this can be the easiest one to enter to recoup your investment (and have Eth to improve your card deck). If your 4 rare cards can average 40-45 points then your common card should push you over the lower Eth threshold most weeks

How to Select a team
- Requirements - If you are unsure of the entry requirements for this league and division click here for a summary
- Stats View - You can toggle the display of the last 5 scores under each card to help you select which cards to play. I would advise turning this on (even if there are better external tools to help you select your lineup)
- Used and No Game Options - By default the card listings will exclude any cards used in other teams you have selected for the week and it will also hide any cards where the player doesn't have a game (unless you have no cards with a game). These options are useful if for some reason you want to select a player who doesn't have a game or you might want to use an already selected player in this team instead.
- Last 5 Average & Bonus - This shows the players last 5 game average and the bonus points the card carries
- This Weeks Game - Here you will either see the logos of the teams playing in the game the card is involved in or if they don't have a game then it will say NG
- Stats View - If you have Stats view selected the last 5 scores will be shown here
- Match Selection - This is your team selection. You have a slot for a Keeper, Defender, Midfielder and Forward. Then there is an Extra slot where a card from any position can be selected

How Cards Score
There are two sets of scoring in Sorare. Decisive Actions and All-Round.
With Decisive actions, players start on Level 0, if they have a positive decisive action they move up a level and a negative one they move down a level. Each level carries a score value which are
Level Points -1 15 0 35 (or 25 if a sub) 1 60 2 70 3 80 4 90 5 100
If a player is on levels 1-5 at the end of the game then they are guaranteed a minimum of the score for that level no matter what happens with the All Round Score.
What is considered a Definitive action is
Postive Negative Goal Red Card Assist Own Goal Penalty Won Penalty Conceded Chance Cleared off Line Error Leads to Goal Clean Sheet (GK Only) Cocededs 3+ Goals (GK Only) Penalty Save Last Man Tackle
All Round actions are the less major actions a player carries out in a game. They can be both positive and negative. The impact they have on a players score depends on the players position. A Defender winning a tackle is generally much more important than a Forward winning a tackle so such actions are worth more for a Defender
On the table above I've highlighted 2 sets of 3 actions as these can be some of the most important areas for the All Round score. If a player archives 2 of the 3 actions in the red box it's called a double, if they do all 3 it's called a triple. Now as you can probably guess a Double Double, Double Triple or Triple Triple is when a player does a double or triple multiple times. That player will receive the listed bonus points in the blue box
The final score of a player is the Decisive Score and the All Round Score combined. If the Decisive score is 35 and the all-round is -10 the final score will be 25.
However, if your decisive score is above Level 1 then if the All Round Score is negative it's ignored. However if it's positive it is added to the score

How to Win Prizes?
There are prizes available in all the Leagues/Divisions apart from the Training league.
You can see how many ranking places will award prizes by clicking the Prize Pool button on the Play Screen and then using the selection boxes to see the prizes on offer for each division
The main prizes awarded are cards, although the top handful of places also award Ethurum. At the moment All-Star Division 4 also award Eth for scoring over 205 and 250 points.
Cards are awarded randomly from a pool of Prize cards. You are awarded cards that are eligible for the league/division you won it in. Prize cards are also split into tiers based on their perceived quality, you can see who is in each tier by clicking the reward

Funding your account
To buy new cards you will need a funding method. There are 3 main ways of doing this
Ramp
Ramp is the easiest way to add Eth to your account. I would advise using the Bank Transfer option as some cards/banks will block crypto card transactions. Bank Transfer also incurs the lowest transaction fees.
Tip: It will generally be cheaper to make one larger purchase of Eth than many smaller ones so work out how much you can afford to initially invest and buy that amount.
Cryptocurrency Wallet
If you already have a Cryptocurrency wallet you can transfer Eth from that directly into your Sorare account. Meta Mask with its Browser extension for most browsers is the easiest one to use but you can transfer Eth in from any wallet or exchange such as Coinbase using the details provided.
If you don't have a Crypto Wallet I would suggest getting one because you will need one to withdraw Eth from Sorare and turn it into actual money. I recommend Coinbase as its both a wallet and an exchange so you can sell it directly from your wallet. Signup using my link at https://www.coinbase.com/join/wakefi_6e and if you buy £73 of crypto you will get £7 of Bitcoin for free. Also, make sure you take all the crypto lessons as each step completed you get rewarded with free crypto
Credit Card
You can also use your credit card to directly purchase and bid. There is a surcharge on these and the biggest downside if on Manager Sales your only option is to pay the asking price, you can't put in a counteroffer. Making a fair offer will often get you the card for a less so it's better to use eth

Buying Cards
When you are ready to move away from just playing the Rookie League you will need to start buying cards. There are 3 ways to buy cards, Auctions, Manager sales and Direct Offers
New Card Auctions
Auctions are as the name suggestions, they get listed at a low starting price, people put in bids on them and whoever has the highest bid at the end of the auction gets the card.
Card auctions usually last 24 or 48 hours although there are pre-announced power hours. With power-hours, they drop 1 card every minute and they have a much shorter auction length.
This is what you will see on the Auction Page
- This is the filter panel. It helps you narrow down the cards in the Auction to find one that matches your requirements. If you are after a certain position or a card for a specific Sorare region or for a specific league.
- These are quick filters to allow you to filter our cards by Scarcity
- By Default cards in the auction are ordered by the one that ends first. You can change the order with this dropdown.
- Under each card you get the usual information of Average score across the last 5 games, the bonus it carries and if they are an under 23 player
- This is the current highest bid shown in both FIAT currency and the Etherum price.
- The next line shows the time left in the auction and how many bids have currently been made
- This is the bid button. Click it to open the bid menu
- Funding Type - Here you get to choose how you are funding your bid. Your choice is either using ETH that is in your Sorare wallet or via Credit Card. As previously mentioned I suggest using ETH
- Bid Amount - This is the value of the bid you are submitting
- Additional Information - This area shows some additional information including info about the card and with ETH selected how much ETH you currently have in your wallet
With any bids it is advisable to leave it until late to bid, otherwise, you push the prices up. However to prevent people bidding with 5 seconds left and people being unable to react to any bid in the last minute resets the timer to 1 minute.
When bidding also make sure to do your research, there is no point bidding £20 if on the secondary market the same card is going for £10
Manager Sales
Managers can list the cards they hold for sale and you can see all the cards on the market in the Manager Sales section.
The Manager sales page look's very similar to the Auction page. The only real difference is the Buy button rather than the Bid button. You buy pretty much via the same mechanic as you bid
Direct Offers
There are two ways to make a direct offer for a card. The first is on the Card Info page, this method is especially useful in conjunction with the Manager Sales page because as long as you don't lowball too much, managers will often take a little less than the price they have listed the card for.
On the Card Infomation page click the Make An Offer button and you can submit your bid.
While it lets you either enter your bid in Eth (1) or FIAT currency (2) this is for ease of use.
You will need Eth in your wallet You can not use a credit card to make an offer via this method
The second method is via the My Club section. Before starting you will want to make a note of the manager name and the card you want to trade for. Via this method, you can include cards you own in the trade so if you want to swap a card make sure you also know which one
Now click on My Club on the Menu Bar and then you can either click Offers received or Offers Sent. Then click create offer button
- On the first screen type the manager's name and select them from the selection box
- On the second screen enter either the Eth or FIAT value you want to send
- On the third screen you can now select one of your cards you would like to send in the trade
- And on the final 4th screen you now select the card(s) you would like from the other manager
Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... - This is the filter panel. It helps you narrow down the cards in the Auction to find one that matches your requirements. If you are after a certain position or a card for a specific Sorare region or for a specific league.

Selling Cards
Selling cards is perhaps something you won't need to pay too much attention early on but it's useful to know about for when you start to flip cards in a bid to build a better squad
If you are on a smaller budget then it can be a good strategy to buy cards cheap and flipping them for a profit, although that's become harder with Limited cards as being more common it does keep the prices more in check. It can still be done through especially if you can pick up young players who haven't yet become first-team regulars as they can shoot up when they do.
Anway to sell a card go in your My Cards screen, select the card you want to sell and on the card info screen you will see a Sell My Card button (1)
Click it and you will be promoted to set a price. If you are wanting to sell I would advise making sure you have researched the going rate for the card. If you overprice it then you are unlikely to be successful in selling the card.
If the going rate is below what you paid for the card you will have to make a decision on a card by card basis. Sometimes it might make sense to offload a card at a loss to help buy better, especially if you don't think the value will go back up but sometimes the value drop may be because of an injury or because the seasons ended and the prices are likely to rise if you hold onto it longer.
Something to also be aware of is ETH values fluctuate. A player you bought for 0.02 ETH 2 months back may be worth 0.02 ETH still but the price of ETH may be higher so in FIAT currency it's actually worth much more. It will all depend if you put priority on the ETH value or the FIAT value.
A word of warning. You do get chances who will put in direct offers to get cards from you well below market value. They will do things like adding an extra zero in the ETH price (or for more expensive ones moving the decimal point one to the left) so make sure you pay attention to all offers. Check both the ETH price and the FIAT price are around what you are looking for. If its well below reject it and then click the block icon next to their name.
If you want to stop these you can set a minimum price for offers on the Card info screen although you need to keep on top of this to account for changing market prices

Personal Settings
On this settings page, you can change your Nickname and Club Name. You can also link your discord account which is worth doing as not only is the Discord a good resource for information about the game but also allows people who are interested in doing a trade with you or people who you have submitted a trade request for one of their cards to contact you to discuss it. This can make it easier to come to an agreement
The Next page is account settings and there are 3 key bits on this page
- This setting allows you to choose between FIAT or ETH being your primary currency type. On most pages, it does show both no matter which one you choose but it will make the one you select the primary one. I believe it defaults to ETH but personally, I prefer FIAT being first
- Here you can set which FIAT currency you want to be used. For most of you GBP will be preferable but you can choose Euros or US Dollars
- Clicking this button will let you add Credit or Debit cards you can use when you don't have enough ETH (Although I would always advise just buying more ETH with Ramp)
If you haven't already download the Google Authenticator app from your phones app store. Open it and follow the steps to set it up, if it gives you recovery phrases to recover it (for example if you get a new phone) make sure you save these somewhere safe and secure .
When its all setup click the + button and follow the instructions to scan the QR shown on the screen. You will then have an entry for Sorare, now type the 6 digit number shown into the box and click Enable Device.
The 6 digit number will change every minute or so and when you login in future you will need to load the app, grab the latest number and enter it. It's a little more hassle but worth it to keep your account secure
In notifications, you can set which notifications you want to get and how to get them. It's worth taking a minute to get these set right

Sorare Data
Sorare Data is perhaps the most tool at your disposal. It has so many features I can't list them all. Some of the most important ones include
- My Lineup Builder - Let's you experiment in building your lineups before creating them on the site. It provides more information and it's easier to experiment than on the actual site. It also gives you the average needed to win a reward in each league which can make it easier to priorities which team you use a card in
- My S05 Scores - Here you can see all the teams you have entered in the current week (and all past weeks). It makes it much easier to see your progress during the week, especially for live games. You can also see just how far you are from the next reward boundary
- The Market - While this largely shows you the same thing as the Auction and Manager Sales on the Sorare site it provides the following additional information
- The Current Average and Best prices so you can see if you are over or underpaying
- The percentage of games played over the last 5 games
- The Average score over the last fifteen games giving a longer-term picture
- The percentage of games played in the last 15 games
- The squad status (Starter, Sub or Reserve)
- Player Info Pages - Every player has a info page showing a host of additional and useful information be it if you are deciding which player to pot in a team, which players to buy and which players to sell
- Side Game - They have side games where you can win prizes. With the league, if you enter check back regularly. This is a head to head competition with another user and you won't always have a matchup

Quick Tips
- Use a Referal Link to be entitled for a free card. Mine is sorare.com/r/simonwakefield
- Research, Research, Research. It's vital you know as much about the players you hold cards of and also the teams they play for. If a player is injured or out of favour he won't score you points
- Train Your Players - Even if they aren't playing that week put them into a training team. The more you can boost their XP the better
- Don't leave submitting your teams to the last minute BUT make sure you go through and double-check and revise them as late as you can before the deadline based on the latest information
- Know when the seasons of the Divisions your cards are from operating. While buying out of season cards are cheaper and set you up for next season you will have multiple weeks where you have no cards to play
- Keepers are essential. If you are entering Division 4 then hopefully you have a good common keeper as that helps. Otherwise, be prepared to spend a good percentage of your initial budget on a Keeper
- With your initial budget priorities a Keeper and then Forward. Decent Defenders and Midfielders can be picked up fairly cheap (especially with Limited cards)
- Again Use a Referal Link to be entitled to a free limited card. Mine is sorare.com/r/simonwakefield

@Prediction league 21/22
Even more reason for anyone who hasn't signed up yet to do so (beyond needing an account to claim your prize). The rookie league which used to be an 8-week introduction league is now a permanent league. So you can use your Common cards to play every week forever and can win both more common cards and even Limited cards.
So even if you never buy a card it's a free Fantasy Football game you can enter twice a week. Remember if you do signup use my link sorare.com/r/simonwakefield so if you move beyond the Rookie league you have a chance of getting a free card (And get me one allowing me to do more giveaways)Stop hovering to collapse... Hi @SimonW how long have you been on Sorare?. I have been on since Jan 2021 absolutely love the game and have turned a £2k outlay into £8k and looks like I am on for two reward cards plus Eth threshold this GW. Hit 351 in challenger and all star rare on 307 with one to play.
I have mentioned on here before but don't think many have tried it.
