Some of our fans are an embarrassment

Total mouth breathers, the club host open trials regularly to all. I’m guessing for a number of reasons including maybe feeling uncomfortable that most that go down aren’t from the local demographic, so the club are trying to make them feel more welcome.

I could go into more detail but these idiots aren’t worth the time. I don’t read Facebook but can imagine.

 

Sadly it's not unique to our club and it's symbolic of the increasing about people who don't like others being given an equal footing.
For me it would be great if any of these people on Twitter or Facebook making these comments had their season ticket cancelled and banned for life, they will try and justify it but ultimately it comes down to them being racist.

 

Nothing wrong with tapping into the local community. Get that right and we have a whole generation of new fans to go at. I would love to see a rocking VP with a good number of young Asians or similar following us. We live in a City that has a high multicultural population and should embrace it fully.

 

Probably jealous rival team Fannie’s ?

Or just ban them and keep the money

 

Ban them, keep the money and then donate it to a charity that supports the South Asian community.

 

Who really cares where the players are from or how they got to the club? If we want to find talent then we have to have more initiatives like this.

I am hoping some of the comments I have seen on FB are in @Parader style-if not then some people have serious issues.

 

And name them as active donators

 

See also some of the responses to Kelleher’s departure. If you click on “view Tweet anyway” from people you blocked, you realise why you blocked them in the first place. Why people can’t just be gracious and say, all the best and thanks for your time I don’t know. Fecking idiots.

I would be very wary of going on a moral crusade with bans and the like. At what point do we decide what should and should constitute a ban? Disagree with their opinions by all means, I don't happen to agree with a lot of what is said on social media but I respect their right to have that opinion.

 

The straight answer to that is -if what is written is libellous then a ban should ensue.

 

There are opinions and then there are downright offensive comments. It is the views falling into the latter category which should not go unchallenged.

 

I'd extend that to "social media" tbh.

Yes but moderated and 99.9% of members moderate themselves enough to remain civil and inoffensive.
