Social Care, NHS, National Insurance

I’m not trying to be the standard knuckle head about immigration here but we also have an awful lot of new comers who want housing/accommodation which puts pressure on almost everything which will cost hundreds of millions. Of course the government will never ever admit it.

 

Five years ago it was painted on the side of a bus that we could give the NHS £350m a week more if we left the EU.

Now Johnson is saying the ordinary working man and woman needs to pay more tax to fund healthcare, whether that’s primary, secondary tertiary or social is irrelevant, we’re being told to pay more.

The wealthy who live off share dividends and other mysterious sources of income won’t have to pay any more tax than they do now.

Penny dropped yet?

 

Haven't they tagged a 3% rise for Social care on council tax bills year on year recently?

Could introduce a super tax for income over £150k or whatever level.
Personally I think any increase should be on income tax rather than NI so that all people earning income are hit equally rather than just income from employment

 

Yep, forgot about that. Maybe even higher then £250k?

 

National Insurance is just income tax by another name but is paid more by the lower income groups with a reduced rate for high earners,
The increase funding if needed should be on income tax say a 2p increase which would be paid by all including non employed so much fairer, Of course the right thing would be to wrap income tax and national insurance together in one tax but governments fear that although for the best that people may well understand better how much tax they are paying,

 

will hit the poorest and youngest hardest, I am happy to pay more to fund adequate services for the common good but I dont think it's fair people in my age and income bracket should bear the brunt, as this measure will ensure. Just giving young people even less reason to ever vote conservative if that was possible. No contributions from others who generate income not through employment (Landlords for example), and next to no contributions in other areas vs people working.

 

That's right, we're getting Corbynism all round through the back door, could things possibly get any worse..?
At least we are recruiting 1000 lorry drivers a day off the dinghies..!!

 

Triple lock on pension manifesto promise also broken today with wages taken out of the increase and just the higher of inflation or 2,5% to count as the increase,
This will mean instead of an increase matching wages of 8.8% they will now get a increase of 2.5% cutting the pension increase by 6.3%

 

The triple lock on pension has been suspended next year as i dont think any government was expecting to hand out 8% increases to pensioners on a yearly basis.
It is all down to an anomaly- workers(well you have to call them summat) coming out of furlough and back into jobs causing a wages boom.
2.5% sounds about right if they are offering nurses 1% and other public sector workers can take a hike!

As for Tony's point about illegal immigrants- he has well and truly kneed himself there- those guys and gals will be used to driving on the wrong side of the road.
Not a good idea.

 

Its just another broken government promise, another kick in the balls for the poorest people in the country.

I have zero trust in the honesty and capability of any political party or politician. Not one.
