Keir with some good lines today,

The tory whips have told the Tory MPs to "Bring their own Boos"
The No10 staff can help the PM as they are good at packing a suitcase.

However the real show stopper was by David Davies who quoted Leo Amery in his speech to Neville Chamberlain,
"You have sat here too long for any good you are doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!"

Is the defection of Christian Wakeford really a good news story for Starmer? Sure it gives Johnson a bloody nose (although Davies gave him a much bigger one) but is it really a positive that a previously unrebellious Tory backbencher can seamlessly cross the aisle to the other side? Doesn't this aid the perception that they are really just Red Tory's with no actual identity rather than pushing against that narrative?

Literally any one of them, Borises personal foibles make him uniquely unsuitable to lead anything. Yeah I dont think he's long for it now but he also has no shame whatsoever so may try to ride it out.

So Kier Starmer again without doing anything is finding all this playing into his hands.

Our PM is actually now the subject of a criminal investigation by the Met for clearly taking the absolute piss during the national lockdowns. None of this actually stacks up which what he has told parliment where his default stance was denial.

Kier Starmer has another open goal to shoot at tomorrow, or even today if they can force the urgent question where the PM was due to be in the House of Commons because he was giving a statement about the situation in the Ukraine. If he now dodges that statement and sends someone else to do it on the back of this news his position is more untenable that it ever was.

The Sue Gray report will also not be released during this ongoing police investigation, so that is kicked into the long grass.

    What a shitshow.

He isn't is he? There's nothing to say who they're actually investigating unless I've missed it?

Exactly. Not sure if he has been accused of organising any of the gatherings, attended a few but not organised. So he might get a £100 Penalty Notice

Think it is weird that no one on any of the reports have asked anyone if the Covid regulations actually are enforcable on Crown Properties. BBC have covered the question previously but never seem to put people on the spot when asking about it today

Ok the PM isn't being solely or personally investigated but he is part of the whole No10 investigation that has been announced this morning. Whatever way you look at it, it does not look good, and there is a huge unknown about the strong rumours regarding breaches at his own personal residence inside No10. They denied it yesterday and said it was outside in the garden but people have been briefing journalists that there is truth in gathering at the residence.

Denying it to the media is one thing, denying it to the police is another.

It's a shitshow however you paint it, and the urgent question will be heard in the house of commons today regarding news of this investigation.

I love this line by Cressida Dick.

"That there was evidence that those involved knew, or ought to have known that what they were doing was an offence"

Seeing as those who were doing were the ones who put the rules together, and were telling the country in press conferences nearly on a daily basis from the off it's strange to suggest otherwise.

Obviously gluing yourself to a motorway or invading the country from dinghies are not offences otherwise the opposition would be all over them like a rash wouldn't they..?

The daft thing about that is that blocking a motorway is an offence. The government don't need additional powers to remove people from blocking motorways like they are suggesting with the bills being put through parliment if they exercised the power they have already.

Exactly, no action against lawbreakers, why is the opposition not even discussing it ? (rhetorical question obviously)...

If no offences have been committed and I had been personally fined, I would not be too happy.

has anyone been fined for breaches on crown properties? That is why I’m not sure if an offences have happened as the laws used for the Covid regulations specifically state that Crown Properties are exempt unless agreed otherwise and no can find any record of anything been noted of an agreement between the local council and Crown

Some folk saying that if no action taken within 6 months of this kind of alleged offence then it's out of time, too late..

6 months is one of the time limits but that is from when police have had evidence or something. Think the bigger deadline is 3 years since the offence
