Ive been listening to James OBrien this morning and for all his intellect he still doesn't get it. He can't understand why people vote for a liar in Johnson when the problem is far bigger than that. Until Labour make themselves a viable alternative Johnson could paper the walls of downing Street in £50 notes and he would still get elected.

Blair played the game better than anyone, he even duped the electorate into believing they were voting Labour when in essence they were voting for Tory lite because Blair understood you cannot get elected by following the socialist mantra. Deep down people are worried about their jobs, their everyday life whereas as Labour seem more intent to listen to irrelwlevant halfwits on social media like Owen Jones. Jones like Corbyn have never done a day's work in their life, true Labour supporters do not relate to those sort of people. The problem for Labour is not Keir Starmer, its their whole approach to politics.

What the Media and some Labour people fail to recognise is that the public factor in that politicians cheat and feather their own nest now and again, It is no major surprise

He's the Adrian Durham of LBC he gets punters going and the daft sods ring him back at extortionate telephone rates, although he's clever at changing the debate midstream.

Bang on that. If your whole campaigns revolve around trying to discredit your enemies for being liars and cheats prepare for the fact you'll probably never win. Because most of the electorate realise politics is institutionalised in its lying and cheating.

Most of Britain I.e working/middle class want a relatively simple life, home in a decent enough area where their windows won’t get smashed in, job security and maybe a holiday or two a year. Labour in recent times seem to have targeted the far left and students who go on pro eu/equal rights for gender neutral rallies etc. They are nowhere near a majority, going to Glastonbury you won’t find what the majority of Britain want. It is a moderate thinking country and always will be, Blair is the only Labour voter in my lifetime to truly know how to reach out to this crowd and as you say play the game properly.

Some left wingers seem to be happy with this result but they’re more bothered about making Labour into a political statement than winning anything. Another sad day for politics. They won’t take any responsibility when Johnson can just run riot unchallenged.

Apparently spending 4 years implying that people are racist/stupid and then pushing for the country to be locked down more forcefully isn't a vote winner. Who knew?

The problem fot Kier is that for all his forensic personna he's fallen into the same old trap. He's trying to play "gotcha" politics to get headlines but they're on topics that just don't resonate with people. His whole campaign seems to be based around trying to prove that politicians lie, but people already know this!! You have to prove that the lies actually have some impact on people's lives for it to be meaningful. Who paid for Johnsons wallpaper is not going to decide a single vote.

It's moved Labour from being the party of the working people to being the party of negativity and moaning. There's no actual ideas and no plan. Just sniping at everything after the event.

That's it, the only worry (not really though) is after last nights result Labour will look to the loony left to take the reins once again, thankfully there are not enough (yet) of loony GB hating wokists to amount to much of a threat...

The greatest ever campaign video has paid off as Tiger Patel has won a seat from Labour in Blackburn, even when he stood on top of a climbing frame with suck *@?$ written on it.

I love the way the commentators are asky why no one votes Labour lol. Johnson doesn't even have to run a campaign or even turn up. Labour would beat themselves in an empty room.

He doesn't understand working people. I'd have thought that was obvious. I've also literally never used the word woke in my life, you say that more than I ever have so maybe you're a closet wokeist yourself? He also repeatedly messed about with the local party down in bristol in a very undemocratic way which further did for me.

On News Night last night Emily Maitlis gave the Labour MP the floor to tell her where the Labour Party goes from here with regards turning their fortunes around, she came out with the usual guff reconnecting with the people blah blah blah, the people have been telling you since the referendum it was about honouring that vote and you (with other parties help) did all you could to not implement their wishes.
If you didn't understand that one single issue then I feel you don't have a clue about reconnecting, I'm awaiting my local council results hoping David Green didn't get in, met him the once and he came across as one major condescending ****.
