Just how low will this guy go to get himself in the news, today he in Hartlepool making up free food box's, I suppose it makes a change from the decorators looking at wall paper.
The Labour candidate said when he was knocking on doors the Hartlepool electorate were asking questions about Boris's flat being redecorated and who paid for it etc, and the Tory candidate was say when he was knocking on doors it was all about the Tory government delivering Brexit for them, I wouldn't suggest for one minute one or the other parties were not telling the truth.

It will take a lot more than a photo shoot in a free food distribution center or trying to take the p!ss in a Homebase decorating department to pull Labour from the position they now find themselves in.

Labour need to go back to the drawing board Bronco. They also need to work out what the ordinary man and women in the street want from government, not what Labour think is best for them.

You know my history with regards my voting, I think I'll be gone before Labour are ever in power again, but given they were policies I believe in and more to the point policies I believe they could deliver I would be more than happy to vote Labour again.

I did comment I might not be here, if I've owt to do with it I intend being around a while yet, so I'm suggesting for Labour to get their act together may take longer than many think ;).

Think this comment says it all.................

The Labour activists, the extremists, that have dragged Labour to the abyss still can't see how they, and not Starmer, have made their party unelectable. A party that hates its country is in turn hated by the silent majority that hold ALL the keys. Go woke, go broke. The advertisers on TV need to heed what is happening.

Think they have been hit with a double whammy in Hartlepool. Brexit party vote moved to Tory and an Independent candidate split the Labour vote. Splitting your own vote never helps, just ask Tories about Brexit party hitting their election last time out

It looks like Labour will get trashed as the results role in, but the Labour party needs to rid itself of all these far left MPs who seem to be happy with the current results as it gets them to claim Corbyn wasn't the problem as Corbyn held the Hartlepool seat (even though he lost 60 other seats we can brush over that).

What a shambles of a night for Labour, even Jeremy Corbyn won Hartlepool, only Labour could be dumb enough to put a pro remain candidate in a constancy that voted 62% for brexit, when will they ever learn as the song goes.

There's a lack of honesty and reality within the Corbynista parts of the Labour party. I heard Diane Abbott make the same point earlier saying that Corbyn had won the Hartlepool constituency in 2019. Therefore the failure to win it yesterday is the responsibility of Starmer. The reality was that in 2019, the Brexit party won an enormous number of votes and many of these came from previous Tory voters which resulted in a split in the Tory vote. Without that split, the Tory party would have won Hartlepool comfortably in 2019. It appears the Brexit party voters have now returned to their natural home demonstrating that split in 2019.

If they are ever to have a major place in UK politics again, the Labour party has to get real. Whatever individuals might think of the Labour party, our political system needs a strong and viable opposition which can hold the Govt to account; and we don't have one at the moment.

I don't dislike Starmer, infact I think with him in charge I would be more likely to vote for them since the days they were in power. However with the party within a party of people like Abbott, Buttler, Long-Bailey, Burgon, etc they simply are unelectable.

The fact the left are celebrating the Hartlepool by election with the same glee as the Tories are for winning it tells you all you need to know about Labours problems.

Whoever decided that a pro EU, second referendum remainer was the best choice for an area who were touching 70% leave in the referendum needs sacking.

Problem is they still don't understand how to play the game. Johnson does, no matter what strife is going down within the party, they always try and bring their A game to the elections. Blair won election after election playing the game. Labour are now completely unelectable, they have no USP other than to try and discredit the opposition. Which predictably has failed l. Even now they are coming out with the same phrases, 'we must learn from this' but they don't. They blame anyone but themselves. I said in here a while ago Labour were responsible for the apparent mess their supporters think we are in. Because they just don't get it, they don't listen. And until they learn how to play the game they'll only get worse, which is disastrous for the future of politics because we badly need an opposition to keep Johnson in some sort of check.

I struggle to understand what the Labour represents these days and I agree it remains unelectable because of the recent history with Corbyn . But then I equally haven't heard anything from Starmer which suggests the Labour party is moving forward or has any cohesive policies to restore its position as a viable opposition. It seems to me that it doesn't know what it is. It used to be the party of the working classes and tarrred with the spend, spend, spend brush investing in public services to improve the lot of the proles. And that approach was vilified in most parts of the media because the country couldn't afford them. But now Johnson has taken on that mantle for his own reasons without a whisper from anybody.

John McDonnell just been on saying the Labour Party have to get their policies across much better, when asked about the wall paper stunt he said it wasntvthe brightest stunt to pull as if gave Boris the chance to quote the British public have far more to worry about than rolls of wall paper, I wonder which bright spark thought that stunt up Owen Jones ?.

Blair would have beaten Boris and in fact if the left had not got rid of him we would have had 20 years of a Labour Government by now.
