Should we be thinking about extending Graham Alexander’s contract?

I really really really hope Alexander’s legacy as city manager is about the marvellous run we had since Christmas and keeping everything crossed, promotion out of this division and further success, and not one of failure.

Tonight is arguably one of his poorer nights as he got it all wrong. No slips ups afforded on Saturday now.

 

After the last 2 games we absolutely should not be looking to extend his contract.

 

If he takes us up absolutely. At the moment he hasnt earnt a thing.

 

Listening to his post match interview yesterday he was very reserved. He well knows we haven't won anything yet and I'm sure he will be letting the players know that, while still being positive and pushing them to the line

 

Yeah, didn't he say something about a few of the players getting a little bit carried away after Colchester and that possibly being a contributing factor to us not quite being at the races in our last two games before yesterday? Hopefully he hammers the point home to them this week that we've won nothing yet and if they want to experience days like yesterday again, they can't take their foot off the pedal for a second.

 

If he could control the urge to tinker all the time he might be worth a one year rollover contract

We need better than GA whether we go up or not. He has lost all sense on substitutions in the last few games. He, let alone the players, can't take the pressure and make rational decisions.

 

The major issue we've got is we can't bring on a more defensive midfield/wing backs.

Yes we have defenders on the bench, but nobody to help us tighten things up on front of the back line.

Our subs are either all like for like or slightly more attacking.

 

The other issue is.. the footballing side off things (in Sharpe) will think we're are ahead of schedule.

We're not.

 

And replace him with who???

 

And what good does it do us continually changing managers. I have been very disappointed in some of his subs lately but he has the stats and performance levels at his fingertips.
But over the last calendar year he has done very well and this club needs a bit of stability

I think he's the best manager we've had since ce parkinson and we've tried a fair few different characters since then.
Give him a new contract ASAP
