The EFL are unlikely to give Wednesday permission to sign any more players, even free agents outside the window, until Chansiri is able to offer the aforementioned assurances that he can continue to fund the club going forward. So, for the time being at least, that will be that on the transfer front.

That shouldn'r come as a surprise to many. Another chancer, Mike Ashley, is rumoured to be interested in buying the club but only for a much lower figure than Chansiri is supposedly wanting. A winding up order may well play into Ashley's hands.

I imagine that if it happens, there’ll be a few people interested. Who knows? They might get lucky.

The boycott on Wednesday saw more Boro fans in the ground that Wednesday fans in a game where season ticket holders alone would have had the gate at about 15k.

It's sad to see, and another example of the EFL fit and proper person test being a complete joke. The question is do they rise from the ashes like other clubs from admin or are they going the way of Bury? Surely a club of that size can't just die.

I simply dont get his logic he got offered 40 million refused it so god know what he will end up getting back in the end ????????

I think as always the issue is with what comes out the other side. Many times this has been a way to wrestle the ground ownership from the club and then a bigger mess comes out the other side. It was going that way at Morecambe, it happened to Bury and Scunthorpe, etc.

Hillsborough isn't currently owned by the Owls. It's been owned by another Chansiri company for the past few years. This would of course be a concern for most potential new owners. The Administrator has however said that he has the agreement of Chansiri that any sale of the club would also include the ground. The word of Chansiri must be good enough.

Talking to a Wednesday fan who's a mate of mine in the office today and they are over the moon. The company that owns the stadium has also gone into administration, so they administrators believe that the new owners will have a clear path to buy the club and ground together.

It's said that there's been at least 5 parties that have made offers to the administrators and the hope is once the 28 day window is over that the purchase of the club and ground will be a doddle. All rumour but he says the fanbase believe they two American parties that tried buying the club earlier in the year are back in the running and will probably get the club for about a tenth of what Chansiri wanted.

That's good to hear. I'm aware of two wealthy Amricans who are rumoured to be interested. John McEvoy who ihas interests in NBA and NHL clubs and John Textor who previously was a co-owner of Palace. Another chancer, Mike Ashley is also believed to be interested in a takeover. I hope for the good of the club that it can all be dealt with quickly but the biggest downside for the club may well be the points deduction already announced and the possibility of a second one If the EFL plays hardball

Textor was the guy my mate mentioned, think he publicly declared interest once before. It sounds like it suits all to be done as quickly as possible. I had Sky Sports News on yesterday morning and the reporter was saying that Sky believe the EFL will bend certain rules to get this one over the line if all the boxes are ticked quickly.

Even my pal says all the fans have already resigned themselves to relegation, there's no chance they'll make up the gap in time. They just want the next guy to be in place and then have a few months at getting the wheels in motion to hit L1 well next summer.

I agree with your mate! Relegation looks inevitable given the Owls' current situation. .. and that no doubt will be factored into the price which the Administrator negotiates. Hopefully, there's little if anything left over for Chansiri!

Hopefully for the Owls, a new owner is in place within a few months and he can appoint a manager who he trusts. That will give him chance to look at his squad and his coaching staff in plenty of time for next season and start to prepare for life in Div 1 .. with us.

He wants us to stay down along with Stockport and a few other challengers, just so there are new grounds to visit on away days next year.

In funnier news for them, some lucky Sheff fans will be able to bid on Chansiri's gold elephants he had outside his offices to raise money for the club. There's two of them up for auction.

    We’ll definitely stay down.

It’s far too early for us to get promoted.

    Apparently.
