Further on the Sheff Weds thing, the training ground "wasn't open" this morning, so the players couldn't train at the club. Josh Windass put a photo online with a few players at a running track, Sheff paper confirmed clusters of players have had to sort out their own training today. What a shambles.

I reckon someone should send him the google maps pin to woodhouse grove :p although he'll probably get kicked out of there too if the Year 9s have track & field PE on.

I'm only going off what Maguire said, SW have a bottom 6 budget and Chansiri has been putting in a lot of money.
We've seen that Rupp has had to put his hand in his pocket for us to compete.
Hopefully, the new regulator will stop all this madness.

The one's getting very rich are the players. It's largely the same group of players getting paid a lot, lot more.

It’s nice waking up, going into the Bradford city transfer forum and reading 4 pages on the financial difficulties suffered by Sheffield Wednesday….

I sympathise with them, truly. But doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s the wrong forum to discuss them in. Unless we’re getting one of their players of course, which we most likely arent

Seems like there will be a lot of Wednesday players available. I’d like to think some of their fringe players would be on our radar.

As yourself an old timer and remember those days very well even though you guys were a well established League One club, as you say little clubs like ours and others could achieve greater things the odd promotion and possibly a 4th/5th round cup run with good management and a lot of luck etc, I remember Northampton being in Division Four and at the end of the 1960-61 season gaining promotion to Division Three. then winning promotion to the Division Two after two further years they gained promotion to the League One.
They lasted one year in League One then were relegated to League Two a year later then two years later it was relegation again, from bottom to top and back again in nine seasons, without massive financial backing that would be some achievement in modern football although Wrexham are looking to push once again with Deadpool & his side kick, am I jealous .................

We were a 2nd Div side when I first went, and I've seen a fair number of relegations too m8. Remember Orient came up and Carlisle!

Not to tempt speculation...... but it's reported that Josh Windass is one of the Wednesday players who have handed in their notice today.

Give Me Sport are saying Windass and 5 or 6 others handed their notice in today but names no more names.

They'll definitely be taking legal advice.

I think the problem is no one will want to be the first one in case it goes pear shaped and they cant leave but if one goes then a lot could.

They need to put their notice in to trigger the steps otherwise they are still in the same boat. As said Windass is reportedly one of 6 or 7 thay have done that today.

From the rules, Wednesday have 15 days to pay 2 months worth of owed wages in full or the player walks. So Windass has jumped first at the game of chicken, but I reckon their agents would have already put feelers out and in 15 days time, a majority of the notice players will already have other deals lined up. I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of the group are players who are 30+, and just want an easy last few years and to make their money they agreed to. Reckon the younger lot might see it out, as they are championship players and know if the older lot walk, they are suddenly key players. Sounds like Liam Palmer is another one.

Whats the likelihood of Owls paying them two months wages in the next two weeks?

    how bad is their predicament?

Lets hope its bad and we can pick at the bones. Where theres tragedy, theres trade.

They can sort their mess out when we have got what we need.
