Not sure - I guess if Bradford was subject to a temporary circuit break, and there happened to be a football match in that period, then it would be a behind closed doors match.

Looks like any circuit break will be nationwide. The way both sides of the political debate are talking second lockdown is coming sooner rather than later

I'm sceptical. With severe pressure on Covid testing facilities around the country, with Govt now telling people not to go for a test without showing the symptoms, with the Govt about to start prioritising testing facilities for the most needy, with the flu season just around the corner, with the Govt now having promised that all care sector works can at long last have the regular testing they were promised some time ago, with the continuing need to protect NHS patients and staff, with the inevitable spike from kids and students returning to schools and unis, with the PM at long last admitting there are deficiencies in the testing regime, do you really believe the Govt will prioritise 1,000,000 football fans having a covid test every week so they can watch their footie team when there are other alternatives not involving testing? I have my doubts!

I have my doubts too, but I’m only saying what I’ve heard! (I posted about mass testing/moonshot about 2-3 weeks before it was announced) :)

Boris also wants to get the economy going - football is a big part of that.

Regarding @Dennis@Dennis point about the flu season, local pharmacist said over 65's due to start getting their jabs in October but under 65's to wait a while yet.

    Bugger!

Over 65 and those under 65 with other issues can get it now, and private patients.

the wait for 50-64 is if you don’t want to pay and you have no other conditions, eg asthma. They haven’t set a date for it yet, or even promised it will happen as it is depending on availability.

If you can I would suggest paying for it and getting it now. We got ours on Thursday

The US Centre for Disease Control said swab testing has too many false negatives (30%?) for passporting on its own and quick blood tests (three strip blood spot test) give too many false positives from other coronaviruses and don't pick it up early enough. Lab blood tests are too slow. If passporting worked, we'd probably be using it already, though it is worrying swab testing is being used to let some people skip quarantine when entering from higher infected countries. It relies on testing negative at the airport and then again in a second test after a couple of days at home. With 30% false negatives, that would still let 9% who were infected avoid quarantine. In practice, some would develop symptoms so it would probably work out less than 9% but 5% or 7% of infected people skipping quarantine would be too high for me. This is actually in operation. I think this government is crazy.

From which countries can you do two tests to avoid quarantine?

Looks like availability is patchy, i will wait until October and if no invite/text i am sure the big supermarkets will be doing them for a small cost.

do you have any medical issue? Eg asthma etc that entitles you to a free jab.

if not just get one now. Looking at previous years there are usually shortages October/November without all the panic

Yep to your first part, but if they dont pull their finger out then i will go elsewhere, however i do know one of the two full-time nurses who usually do the job and always ask the awkward questions to her like why are there no more doctors and nurses taken on when our local population is increasing.
The privatised health centre tends to get locums to cover than employ newbies.
The flu jab is one of our success stories and there is not many others to shout about at the moment.

If you are due it free due to other reasons and not just age just go get it now. Ring your local Boots/Lloyds etc and book now. Be quicker than waiting for your GP and still free via the NHS.

It seems it did not start as planned. I'd read reports it was starting a few weeks back but had not seen that it was put on hold at the last minute. Please accept my apologies.

    https://thepointsguy.co.uk/news/lhr-coronavirus-test-on-arrival/

Last month, Travel firms Collinson and Swissport said they were poised to begin offering coronavirus testing for some arriving passengers. A negative test would, in theory, allow a passenger to bypass the U.K.’s mandatory 14-day quarantine for those who wouldn’t otherwise be exempt. However, the move was subject to government approval that now seems highly unlikely.

With previous trials the local authorities can step in and block any events. I wonder if that would happen here with the continuous increase in cases
