Obviously the appointment of Hughes is going to put extra thousands on the attendance on Saturday. How about welcoming the gaffer with a noisy show of a scarf parade? Let it bounce!

So you never participated with the thousands that have done it in the past? Didn't know them all personally but they looked older than 12 to me.
    Keep smiling.

    Well I think it's a good idea.

Might be a bit short notice, like, but fair play Andy on the idea.

From boycott to scarf parade in 24 hours.

Let's keep our shit together. There's a lot to put right here.

Of course I don't hate positivity. But I don't have much time for the fickle nature of football fans either Park.

There's no much we can do right now, might as well accept it and pray for the same miracle Rupp and Sparks are praying for

I agree that any sort of boycott now would be ill advised. And I have no issue with supporters getting right behind Hughes. Of course we should. But I've maintained my position for some time that our fundamental issues here reside at the very highest levels of the club, and that no manager is set up for success here. So I'm far less interested in or distracted by Hughes appointment, I'm much more interested in how we're going to set him, and the club up for success. Talk is cheap, and previous talk has literally been cheap. Lets see whether we're finally going to walk the walk.

It’s amazing that people like yourself (with all due respect) have it down on Ryan Sparks but those who are the know there was another on the radio tonight who say what a good job he is doing.

    100 % agree.

But after all the self-congratulations, self-adulation and outright hype coming out of the club ("one of the most momentous days in the club's history", etc), we might as well join in.

It's pretty clear to me that this is the club making what they consider a HUGE power play.

The only problem with HUGE power plays is that they absolutely have to pay off.

If it pays off, every single City fan will be happy, because the pay off is promotion and continued success.

If it doesn't pay off, the club have pretty much backed themselves into a corner, because I'm not sure how much bigger they can go than appointing Hughes to the astonishment and surprise of the entire footballing world.

I'm not saying 'we win' if the Hughes appointment fails, because of course we don't, but there will be no greater proof that Rupp & Sparks alone aren't fit to run this football club. People seem to think the whole world has tilted on it's axis because we signed a big name manager; but we're still sorely lacking at the club, but the club continue to pretend it isn't. We've no choice now but to let this play out, hoping that it works out, but if you're like me, assuming that it won't.

    Either way, we're still supporters.

    Might as well support.

He inherited one who had us bottom of the league appointed two who were already at the club who saved us from relegation. And appointed the guy with best cv for the job. The CEO job is to maximise income which he has done fantastical well and to appoint the best qualified people on the football side he has done that and has been let down so he has taken decisive action and now landed a coup for new manager

Jon mate lighten up. I suspect you want us to succeed as much as anybody but it’s not coming across that way. It’s ambitious but it might not work. If 16000 turn up and create an atmosphere that’s been sadly lacking, it’s something to build on. If it fails, then Sparks will probably be gone and Rupp will be stuck with half a football club and I’ll be spending more time with the wife. Not something she’s looking forward too. It’s been really bad for a long time, but today we had a good day, the first in 6 months. I cannot remember when I last felt good about going to a game. We have a long long way to go and have to make some major changes to get any near where we need to be but let’s be positive even if it’s only one step forward.
