I know it’s all about expedience but sometimes you have to give players time to play themselves into a system and form

 

I get the impression from what I've read about this player is that he is far above this level. Lack of training may be worth the risk

 

Have you got the right poster with your reply ?.

 

My guess is we go 3-5-2 against Mansfield
Stubs,Platt,Critchlow

 

And Roy McFarland.

 

Whats this, a new player praising our terrible its a school training facilities.
He felt it was easier to integrate , because the lads had a room to relax and play darts and snooker together.
Something they did not have at his last club.
Its a school for f--- sake.

 

Definitely strong in the air and very vocal but on Tuesday when he was in a foot race with one of their players, in the second half, he looked like he was running in treacle. We have to be careful he isn't exposed like that too often. Possibly play in a three at the back to ensure that doesn't happen again?

 

I saw that and at the time my thoughts were that he was laying off because he was on a yellow card.

 

We saw it too....we thought he must have picked up an injury! That said it was in that 10 minute wobble just before the second goal. At that point I thought several players were looking short on fitness... Stubbs, Clayton and Walker too. Thankfully they seemed to get a second wind after the goal

 

Why aren’t our players fit? They ought to be bouncing around by now.

 

Obvs, they train at a school

 

I wonder if we bought the school that would be the same claim "we don't own a thing we even train at a school".

Looks decent so far, but he seems to have had the Devante Cole treatment.

Why on Earth Middlesbrough would pick him up after getting released by Wigan, I'll never know.

Have to assume it's because he's another second generation player.

At 24, he's had nowhere near the game time I'd expect of someone so highly touted. Again, I can't help but wonder if that reputation is genuine or not.

So far, all good, and perhaps I'm using his name against him unfairly, but comparisons to Andrew Davies?! That was a low end Premier League player playing in League Two, and it showed every game. We will never have a defender as good as him at this level ever again, and it's unfair to compare people to him IMHO.

 

Three games in and he's looked the fittest one on the pitch.

 

On the money as usual Park. Always makes me laugh the way some people write off a player that hasn't played a single minute for us.

Imagine him fully fit next season!!

 

I sincerely hope he stays fit, but if you think he's fit now, my gosh he's slow. Doesn't mean he isn't quality though!

 

I've not observed a slowness of speed. Probably because he's so good technically that he can be slightly outpaced (and what defender isn't occasionally) his positional sense more than makes up for it.

Whilst I've no problem with Platt, Stubbs shows just how ordinary he is as a defender - even though he's a good L2 and potentially L1 standard.

Has to be Platt and Critchlow.
