Yes that could be the case but I cant see it happening on Saturday similar to the lad Costello.

I'm not debating that but it also wasn't the point you made.

IF, and it's not certain as yet, Stubbs is to take Platts shirt I'm absolutely certain it will be on merit of his defensive attributes and not because he can add something to the side going forward.

I assumed he was suggesting Rory could take the corners. Wouldn't be any worse...

He slows play down because he isn’t quick of thought and isn’t comfortable with the ball at his feet, something Stubbs says he’s comfortable doing.

Good as he is, I find Critchlow infuriating for slowing play down, especially considering how good he is with the ball at his feet. At times he has acres of space in front of him and could advance 20, 30 yards, but he stands on the ball looks around and usually ends up playing it back to Platt because the midfield haven't shown for it

You've answered your own statement with regards as to why Crichlow holds the ball. One, because he's comfortable with it to feet but also because invariably the midfield can't get away from their markers as they are too slow or because he knows if he passes it he's only gonna get it straight back. He doesn't venture forward too often as he is the last line of defence on the counter and has to cover Platts lack of pace.

So, if you're correct, yet another signing where we haven't done due diligence and scouted correctly?

I agree, it's really frustrating, but I think Hughes has him doing this on purpose to pull their strikers into a press which creates space. I mean it doesn't work, but I think that's the idea.

Look, Rory was so good (using the theory that when they leave you or are injured long term they turn into Messi) that he could take the corners AND get on the end of it at the near post.

I still laugh at that tackle sorry wrestle move he made when he sacked a player and not even a foul was given, the commentator called him Rory Mcrory

Like offering a contract to Foulds who it seems can't run down the wing and cross to the level expected?

Sheffield United at the Kop end right side of our box. Wasn’t Billy Sharpe was it? Can’t recall!

Don’t forget Sutton, another one I can’t explain?
Maybe they thought he would develop, like Foulds?

    Sutton?

He had no chance getting in the team with the best midfield 3 in league 2 ahead of him, m8.

Sutton deserved his contract as did Foulds the fact he has moved on doesn’t change that. It’s one person Hughes opinion that in this case counts. They both have moved not because wanted rid but because they both want to be playing regularly

By definition,he doesn’t think they fit in the first 11 on a consistent basis. Therefore one must believe they are better moving somewhere who can give them that. No room for sentimentality if promotion is the goal.

I thought he may, perhaps 12 months ago , potentially develop in to a right wing back/ full back. Clearly it will have been tried behind closed doors. It didn’t work out . Great heart, lacked tech ability.

Had he stayed I have no doubt he would have played in pretty much every game, albeit from the bench, particularly once Songo'o went. He obviously wanted more and intimated as much in an interview a few weeks back. Not a regular starter but I expect Hughes would have preferred to have kept him.
