It could be. When the subs came on after half time I had to go back to the team sheet to find out it was Pritchard who had been taken off - he hadbeen that anonymous

That's when a team mate covers your arse by letting you know - "Go 'Jimmy', you're covered" teamwork is the name of the game.

Says something apart from BRE that all the passing activity is with the central defenders, wing backs plus Watt - what are the others contributing - certainly not in the defending or scoring departments.

Pritchard was hung out to dry on Saturday, the role he was asked to do is not his game, should have had Scales in that position from the start. If the lads good enough to be on the bench he's good enough to start. I know we had injuries but stop playing players out of position.

    Indeed.

Also shows that we're passing for passings sake and not getting anywhere. Symptomatic of having no out ball - be it wingers or a punt over the top for pacy strikers. Something which you don't need data to be aware of.

It isn't effective. We need to learn quickly how to get the ball forward and into decent areas. Based on that, which I suspect a lot of our games would be similar to, then it backs up what we already know in that we are in for a long old struggle.

if that is correct it shows how uninvolved Evans was and a reason why we were dominated in midfield. Watt can’t be expected to battle on his own in midfield. Don’t get me started on DMH..

This is a trademark of McCall & Black. I remember fans calling us the Arsenal of league 1. Pass, pass, pass and pass again. Never getting a shot off and trying to be too clever, giving the opponents time to regroup. I was listening to talksport a few weeks ago and one of guests, a former footballer wasn’t impressed with one touch football in training because it stopped players being expressive and running with the ball.

100%. There seems to be a modern obsession that 'good' football only involves possession. There's more than one way to skin a cat and to be perfectly honest I far prefer fast, slick, counter attacking, direct football. That doesn't mean a lump to a number 9s head, but positive, front foot football where we take teams on. Possession is great in terms of managing and controlling a game but you also need to have players capable of creating a bit of magic and with players of the quality we have it simply leads to nothing.

I like the way Leicester play under Rodgers. Quick and on the shoulder of the last defender.
