Looked like we were going to completely blow a seemingly unassailable lead.
We’ve got enough to retain the cup. Can we go on and win it properly?

Might just sneak a win, rather than going for biggest win ever, or for a long time, like was being talked about this morning

Two point win in the end, but it was squeaky bum time for several hours. But great to win away, especially with the horrendous levels of crowd abuse yesterday.

I was pretty surprised at the triumphalist tone of some of the write-ups this morning. Some were talking like we’d already won it. The yanks are traditionally best in the singles and were always going to fight hard after being outplayed for two days in the pairs.

It was a nail biting finish. TBH more exciting than if Europe had romped it.
I hate to say this but credit to the Yanks. They kept going for their shots, especially the puts, where you could see Europe getting more and more tentative and leaving them short

Yes. First two days we were holing all our putts and they were missing there’s. That almost totally reversed on Sunday. I was hoping for a record Europe win just to shove it in the faces of their boorish spectators, but I always thought it was more likely that they would mount a comeback. Still a fantastic achievement to win away in that unacceptably hostile environment.
