We are a Joke and we are in a relegation fight. Mcall has to walk if he loves the Club. Absolutely embarrassing- no goals in open play in the last 5 games. Says it all really - we really are in trouble.

It's easy to let Rupp off the hook, and we're all grateful he has funded the club out of the financial hole Rahic put us in - but there's no question his presence at Bradford City is holding the club back.

From Gary Bowyer not being given the funds to even appoint a number two, to a lack of a professional structure within the club (particularly after Rahic ripped the heart out of it), Rupp has failed to address the gaping holes off the field which are even more glaring that those on the field.

For as much as we need a leader in the midfield and a competent striker alongside Novak, not having a football-oriented CEO and not having an adequate scouting system (whether they answer to a DoF or not) looks to be damaging us even more.

How much reliance have we had on signing young, inexpensive players combined with those Stuart and the club know personally?

If Stefan Rupp is going to invest anywhere this season, it needs to be OFF THE FIELD, or we will continue to look like we're out of ideas as a club. It's easy to blame Stuart, and he certainly doesn't help himself with his naive assessment of our squad and our chances, but getting this off-the-pitch structure in place is pivotal.

We cannot keep spinning the managerial wheel and hoping for a Parkinson - and nor should we! Parkinson famously made off with all the scouting files, which is criminal. Was he in charge of absolutely everything? Certainly seems that way - which would explain why, starting again under Rupp and Rahic when PP left, we've had failed time and time again.

Consistency, continuity, and having a plan will set us up for the future; lacking these will only set up failure unless we strike it lucky with a manager who controls the whole damn show.

I'm not so sure, just with basic maths it will show a modest return going forward. If you estimate the club running costs as 2.5 mil a season (somebody may know the actual costs but I don't). The club receives 850k in payments for being in league 2 and averaging it to 10k fans at £149 he is not far off break even. By the time you add any sponsorship money, cup success etc he will be making a profit.

No he is responsible for where the club can be found now, financially, the position the English football league, the poor infrastructure, appointment of / recruitment of players, manager and support staff.

It was all very well Rahic leaving the club but despite the damage he created, he had very little skin in the game and what he had was financed by one of Rupp's investment companies. All it took was for Rupp to come to his senses and realise what was happening at VP for him to get Rahic through the door.

Rupp himself is a different matter. He won't just leave and give his shares in the club to somebody else. He'll want to get whatever he can from his investment once the current crisis has been resolved and hopefully sell it on to somebody else. Despite one or two rumours, I don't see any evidence that there is another buyer waiting in the wings. Most of us would probably want that to happen but it will take another madman to come along and give Rupp what he paid for the club originally or for Rupp to crystallise his loss and sell the club for less than he paid. Unfortunately we're going to have to be patient ... unless JR's cunning plan comes to fruition! ;)

How can Rupp apply pressure on Rhodes? If Rhodes walked he would not have a clue how to go about replacing him, let alone who with.

He has, the first line of his recent interview in the T&A read:

'Julian Rhodes has identified a suitable successor to take over as City’s chief executive this season.'

But Rupp's supposedly asked him to 'hang on' (also in the same article.)

    https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/18798956.bradford-city-chief-executive-proud-run-club/

Rhodes also had a go at supposedly negative fans for expecting cash to spent to improve the club's fortunes. When, from what I've read at least, virtually no one has asked for that. Wanting the club to create an internal football infrastructure that's as professional as other clubs of our size is far from unreasonable in my opinion.

I don't believe that fans have unrealistic ambitions or expect millions of pounds to be expended. Just a system that would allow the club to scout and acquire players through a system that isn't solely reliant on the manager's contact book and iPad would be an improvement. Ideally, a new CEO would have some current football knowledge/ideas. Because at the moment there's zero continuity, the club starts anew with every new manager. Obviously there needs to be some dialogue between the manager and CEO. But I'm sure that's pretty standard at better run clubs than City.

I think Mr Rhodes has done well to steady the ship, but hope him and his wife Lana find a nice place to retire sooner rather than later

Patience is the word am afraid but for Mr Rupp to get anything approaching what he paid for the club he has to return us at least to the position we were in before he took over even then he would be lucky to find someone else with the same mindset he had
As per Mr Rhodes "cunning plan" that makes me go cold surely not !!!!! that doesn't bear thought

I agree. The financial climate has changed massively since he bought the Club and Covid has possibly weakened his hand further. For years, we have always scraped around for the sort of investment that we need and I guess he has seen his initial efforts bear no fruit and is reluctant to dig in further. Patience, as you say is the watchword but realistically, needle in the haystack scenario.

The salary cap will probably mean City makes a small profit each year taking the pressure of Rupp to sell and increasing the sale value of the club
